SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team in support of the Air Operations Center Weapons System (AOC WS) Falconer Program.

This position requires technical engineering experience, with a demonstrated understanding and application of systems engineering and configuration management principals and processes, mission planning/scheduling, cloud computing architectures (e.g., hybrid environments, AWS/Azure GovCloud), along with experience in systems engineering and sustainment. The successful candidate will be effective at face-to-face interaction with customers and other contractors to respond to requests for information, support to technical meetings, technical interchanges and enterprise working groups. The candidate must be able to work independently and represent the program and SAIC at meetings and working groups with government and associate contractors.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Perform Systems Engineering in Core Systems (Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, MECM, SQL, HBSS/ePO, VMware vSphere, and Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) / Platform as a Service (PaaS)), for the AOC (Air Operations Center) weapons system.
  • Design, deploy, and manage hybrid cloud or cloud-native infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure) to support modernization efforts for the AOC weapons system.
  • Collaborate with government counterparts and SAIC leadership on technical roadmaps for future Agile Release Event (ARE) content, cloud migration strategies, and next-generation systems.
  • Provide senior-level support and mentoring for the integration team.
  • Establish test and evaluation criteria for the testing team.
  • Guide each assigned engineering project from cradle to grave.
  • Gather, report, and analyze data across multiple product teams on status of integration, procurement, and installation efforts.
  • Lead engineering efforts for automation and scripting logic for the weapons system, including infrastructure-as-code (IaC) for cloud deployments.
  • Direct integration and cyber teams in the resolution of STIG findings. Ensure that each product delivered is secure from a cyber standpoint, adhering to DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (CC SRG) standards.
  • Identify, monitor, and analyze critical paths and generate Cross-Product Team reports and resolve blockers for the integration and cyber teams.
  • Use project management software to track team progress, perform related analyses and generate metrics.
  • Provide data and reports for all types and levels of program reviews.
  • Track associated deployment activities to include hardware/software purchases, cloud resource provisioning, and coordinate with logistics POCs on status of equipment arrival. Anticipate choke points and provide timely resolution.
  • Submit Change Requests for new software and track any new software licensing or cloud subscription requirements.
  • Produce build flow documentation to be released in AREs and perform document review for quality control.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's and nine (9) years or more experience; Master's and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
  • Current DoD Secret security clearance, with eligibility for SCI.
  • Must meet position and certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Technician Level III (CompTIA Security+).
  • Experience designing, provisioning, and maintaining cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform), particularly in secure or government enclaves (e.g., GovCloud).
  • Experience in Systems Engineering activities including: concept of operations formulation, requirements definition, analysis and engineering, system architecture, system analysis and design, interface and data architectures, validation and verification, systems integration, system operational performance analysis, lifecycle cost analysis estimation, decision analysis and physical configuration analysis (PCA).
  • Experience in performing functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware, software or engineering specifications with focus on floor layout, power cooling, data storage, infrastructure management, backup, monitoring, operating systems, directory services, identity management, access management, cloud resource management, and automation.
  • Engineering experience in Core Systems (Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft Exchange, MECM, SQL, HBSS/ePO, VMware vSphere).
  • Preferred: Cloud-related certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or CompTIA Cloud+).
