The Strategic Division (SD) supports high-reliability organizations including Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP), Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, and the Department of Energy (DOE), among others. Our support across our client base is expanding rapidly and encompasses important services, such as data analytics and visualization, threat analysis, risk management, modeling and simulation, cost estimating, earned value management, program management, system engineering, independent evaluation, and High Consequence Event prevention.

SPA's Strategic Division's Strategic Development Group (SDG) supports critical U.S. government programs providing Systems Engineering support, Systems Safety support and Financial Analysis support. SDG is hiring for a part-time (~20hrs/wk) Systems Engineer located in Cape Canaveral, FL to support missile branch operations and integration starting in November, 2026.

Responsibilities

Employee will support Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) Missile Branch (SP27) with engineering support for production, operations, and integration related to the TRIDENT II legacy program (D5LE) and new development program (D5LE2). This support can include:
  • Acting as a key coordinator, attending planning meetings and ensuring project execution and alignment with client objectives.
  • Conducting research and analysis to compile actionable insights for Executive leadership decision-making.
  • Preparing and presenting recommendations and findings to senior leadership within Executive Suite and partner organizations.

Employee will be mainly supporting the Production Unit within SP27, but their expertise in missile operations and integration will be leveraged across multiple clients within SP27.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Located near the SPA Cape Canaveral Office.
  • Top Secret security clearance.
  • >20 years of experience in program management within the TRIDENT Missile Program.
  • Subject Matter Expert in missile development, production, and integration.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent engineering experience.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with the organization and leadership of Strategic Systems Programs.
  • Experience in the production associated with various TRIDENT missile programs.
  • Experience in integration across multiple programs and balancing competing interests.
