Job Description
- Serves as an Army Force Generation (ARFORGEN) Mobilization, Deployment, Redeployment and Demobilization (MDRD) Specialist at HQ XVIII Airborne Corps for policies, procedures and technical guidance and functions related to development.
- Conduct of XVIII Airborne Corps deployments, redeployments, and mobilization requirements.
- Plans, organizes, and directs team staff work to negotiate effectively with affected agencies to accept and implement recommendations to affect transforming Army and Army Command processes support mobilization/deployment within the ARFORGEN process.
- Maintains continuous liaison with FORSCOM and all units who the SC possesses Training Readiness and Oversight of to include other ASC and activities to facilitate action.
- Keep abreast of new or proposed changes to Army deployment, redeployment, readiness and mobilization processes.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- 1. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- 2. Drug test may be required. In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.
- 3. TDY travel is required 20% or less of the time.
- In accordance with DoDM 8140.03 and supplemental Army guidance, the employee must obtain and maintain the following requirements for each Cyber work role. (except Data, AI, and/or Software Engineering.
- At the assigned proficiency level: 1) Foundational qualification requirements within 9 months, 2) Resident qualification requirements within 12 months, 3) 20 hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) per work role code (which can overlap).

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Identifying and analyzingmobilization/deployment readiness. Managing command programs, to include developing, conducting mobilization, and deployment processes. Developing and implementing compliance readiness for operations; manning, training readiness procedures prioritizing mission requirements.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
