Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Chemical Engineer to provide technical support across multiple programs for a major Intelligence Community customer in the National Capital Region.
This role will apply chemical engineering and materials science expertise to advanced materials development, composite technologies, and manufacturing process optimization in support of geospatial intelligence and national security missions.
Key Responsibilities:
-Provide chemical engineering and materials science expertise for advanced polymers, composites, and specialized materials systems
-Support process development, optimization, and qualification for additive and advanced manufacturing technologies
-Conduct materials characterization, testing, and analysis to meet demanding performance and environmental requirements
-Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams on materials selection, integration, producibility, and technology transition
-Contribute to technical deliverables, white papers, and program reviews supporting multiple ongoing efforts
-Identify and help mature innovative materials solutions for operational use across assigned programs
Required Qualifications:
-8+ years of experience in chemical engineering or materials science supporting DoD or Intelligence Community programs
-Strong background in polymers, high-performance composites, coatings, or advanced manufacturing process development
-Experience with materials qualification, process engineering, and transitioning technologies from development to production or field use
-Active Secret clearance (Top Secret / SCI preferred)
-Excellent technical writing, briefing, and stakeholder communication skills
-Prior experience supporting NGA, geospatial intelligence programs, sensors, or advanced materials initiatives is highly desired
Location: National Capital Region (primarily Springfield, VA area with hybrid flexibility)
