Obsidian Solutions Group is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Support Lead to oversee virtual and constructive simulation development, terrain modeling, multimedia production, and scenario integration for Mission Command training events. The ideal candidate has deep technical expertise in Army modeling and simulation concepts, advanced proficiency with multimedia and terrain-creation software, and strong leadership skills to manage a specialized development team.

Obsidian Solutions Group is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Support Lead to oversee virtual and constructive simulation development, terrain modeling, multimedia production, and scenario integration for Mission Command training events. The ideal candidate has deep technical expertise in Army modeling and simulation concepts, advanced proficiency with multimedia and terrain-creation software, and strong leadership skills to manage a specialized development team.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and integration of virtual and constructive simulations supporting Mission Command Exercises.
- Oversee terrain modeling, simulation authoring, and multimedia content production to ensure realistic, accurate, and mission-aligned training environments.
- Manage and supervise personnel involved in modeling, simulation, video production, and terrain creation workflows.
- Utilize Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Terra Vista Dart, or equivalent terrain-authoring/multimedia tools to produce high-quality exercise content.
- Coordinate with exercise planners, system operators, and training personnel to ensure simulation products meet operational and doctrinal requirements.
- Develop, edit, and integrate simulation scenarios, visual media, and terrain data into Mission Command systems.
- Ensure proper configuration, functionality, and quality control of all simulation products prior to exercise execution.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members on simulation methods, multimedia production, and terrain design.
- Manage timelines, production schedules, and resource allocation to support exercise development cycles.
- Conduct after-action reviews, identify improvement areas, and develop strategies to enhance modeling and simulation capabilities.
- Maintain familiarity with emerging modeling and simulation technologies, terrain-authoring tools, and multimedia production techniques.
- Ensure all simulation development activities follow DoD standards, classification rules, and cybersecurity requirements.
Requirements:
- Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance required
- Bachelor’s degree
Special Skills/Qualifications Required:
- In-depth knowledge of Army modeling and simulation concepts
- Proficiency with:
- Adobe Premiere
- Adobe After Effects
- Terra Vista Dart or equivalent terrain creation/authoring suite
- Effective leadership and supervisory skills
- Experience supervising personnel
Minimal Background/Experience Required:
- Minimum two years of experience with virtual and constructive computer simulations
- Experience in video editing and authoring simulation content for training scenarios
Additional Desired Qualifications/Experience:
- Two years’ supervisory experience leading media/terrain modeling development teams focused on constructive and virtual simulations
