OVERVIEW:
We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer to support a federal contract. In this role, you will design, implement, and support secure AWS cloud infrastructure solutions with a primary focus on Identity and Access Management (IAM) using Okta. You will collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to deliver scalable, secure, and compliant cloud environments that support critical CMS initiatives.

We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer to support a federal contract. In this role, you will design, implement, and support secure AWS cloud infrastructure solutions with a primary focus on Identity and Access Management (IAM) using Okta. You will collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to deliver scalable, secure, and compliant cloud environments that support critical CMS initiatives.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Design, deploy, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure in support of federal programs.
- Configure and maintain AWS security services, IAM policies, roles, and permissions.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders to develop secure cloud solutions.
- Support infrastructure automation and configuration management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools where applicable.
- Monitor cloud environments for performance, availability, and security.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, authentication, and access-related issues.
- Ensure cloud environments comply with federal security standards and CMS requirements.
- Document technical designs, configurations, operational procedures, and system changes.
- Participate in system deployments, maintenance activities, and production support.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field and at least 5 years of relevant AWS cloud engineering experience; or High school diploma (or equivalent) with 9 years of relevant AWS cloud engineering experience (substituting an additional 4 years of experience for the degree requirement).
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting AWS cloud environments.
- Strong understanding of AWS services, networking, security, and cloud best practices.
- Experience managing AWS IAM roles, policies, permissions, and security controls.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a distributed team environment.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- AWS Certifications (such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or Professional, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or AWS Certified Security - Specialty).
- Experience supporting federal government or healthcare-related cloud environments.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
- Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture and identity federation technologies.
- Experience integrating Okta with AWS and enterprise application
