Logistics Control Clerk (1040)

The employee provides hazardous material (HAZMAT) and warehouse support for afloat units, submarines, and surface combatants, ensuring safe handling, accurate accountability, and compliance with Navy and DoD regulations.

• Assist HMC Afloat CHRIMP techs with Courtesy Stow operations in support of homeported ships.
• Conduct deliveries, offloads, and temporary stowage operations to maintain material accountability and readiness.
• Perform area and satellite accumulation area inspections, identifying deficiencies and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Support warehouse operations, including inventory management, material consolidation, and operating forklift equipment or other material-handling tools.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with Navy, DoD, and contract requirements.

• Entry-level position with minimal predefined experience/education requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required system access, including HMIRS, WBFLIS, HAZ Portal, and the DoD Shelf-Life Program.
• Ability to complete and maintain forklift certification and required medical clearance.
• Knowledge of hazardous material handling, storage, and compliance requirements. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet mission requirements.
