Job Description
Role Overview: The Cloud Platform Architect is a senior-level position within the application migration team, responsible for providing strategic direction and technical leadership in cloud adoption and architecture. This role oversees the overall application architecture and deployment across various cloud environments, including public, private, and hybrid clouds. The Cloud Platform Architect develops comprehensive cloud adoption plans, designs robust cloud applications, and establishes effective cloud management and monitoring methods, all within Agile frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain the overall cloud architecture strategy aligned with business objectives
Ensure architectural decisions align with industry best practices, security standards, and compliance requirements
Assess current application portfolios and develop migration strategies
Identify opportunities for cloud optimization and innovation within the existing IT landscape
Ensure application designs leverage cloud services effectively and efficiently
Develop strategies for effectively utilizing multiple cloud platforms when necessary
Optimize workload placement across different cloud environments
Establish cloud management practices and governance frameworks
Develop monitoring strategies to ensure optimal performance, security, and cost-efficiency of cloud resources
Implement automated scaling, self-healing, and disaster recovery solutions
Architect security solutions for cloud environments
Requirements:
Bachelors degree
Years of Experience: 8-12
Develop strategies for data protection, encryption, and access management in the cloud
Design architectures that ensure high availability and scalability of applications
Develop strategies for managing peak loads and traffic spikes
Optimize application performance in cloud environments
Collaborate with business leaders to align cloud strategies with business objectives
Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Provide mentorship and guidance to the cloud engineering team
Participate in SAFe events such as PI Planning and System Demos
Collaborate with Release Train Engineers and Solution Architects to align cloud strategies with program and portfolio objectives
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $180,000 - $200,000 (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.)
