Blazor UI Application Developer
Location: Remote with occasional on-site in DC as needed
Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen and able to pass a background check
Employee Type: 1099 or W2
Mid and Senior level roles available:
• Blazor Server application development experience — 5+ years for a mid-level role, 7+ years for a senior role
• Direct experience with the browser DOM (JavaScript interop, event-driven UI, dynamic HTML rendering)
• Experience with XML document structures — ideally translating XML content into HTML, with familiarity in standards like DITA, DocBook, or similar custom schemas
• C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS in production environments
• Certifications: One of: Microsoft AZ-204, Microsoft .NET Developer certification, CIW Advanced HTML5/CSS3, or CIW JavaScript Specialist
Project Overview
Support development of a document-centric web-based authoring/editing platform for a federal agency client, modernizing a legacy publishing system. The platform consumes structured XML content and renders it as interactive HTML through a Blazor Server front end.
Required Experience
• 5-7+ years developing complex web applications
• 3-5+ years advanced experience with C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS in production environments
• Advanced Blazor Server development experience
• Advanced JavaScript interop / DOM-based UI manipulation
• Strong understanding of XML-based document models, schema-driven content
• Experience defining or overseeing XML-to-HTML translation strategy
• Familiarity with DITA, DocBook, or equivalent XML frameworks
Core Responsibilities
• Design UI architecture for dynamic document rendering and interactive editing
• Define/oversee XML-to-HTML translation into structured, interactive components
• Review complex JavaScript/DOM interaction code from other developers
• Ensure UI integrates with application state, validation, and review workflows
• Establish UI/UX consistency across menus, toolbars, dialogs, and editor surfaces
• Provide technical guidance to junior developers on performance and extensibility
• Support Git-based code review and controlled merge practices
• Certification (at least one required): Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204), Microsoft .NET Developer, CIW Advanced HTML5/CSS3 Specialist, or CIW JavaScript Specialist (equivalents considered)
