Job Description
Position: Modeling and Simulation Engineer
Location: Bedford, MA (100% Onsite)
Length: 6 Month Contract to Hire
*Top Secret Clearance Required*
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Support and conduct simulation studies covering system and component performance, engineering trade-offs, system effectiveness, cost, and logistics.
• Review modeling work for compliance with regulations and best practices.
• Develop and maintain modeling best practices.
• Analyze complex technical problems and develop relevant models and constraints for dynamic structural, thermal, and other analyses.
• Support the development of appropriate models to solve complex weapon system issues, including networking and communications.
• Apply advanced software and systems methods, theories, and research techniques to investigate and solve complex technical problems.
• Analyze, evaluate, and plan methods of approach and organize resources to achieve solutions to complex technical problems.
• Conduct investigations and tests of considerable complexity.
• Evaluate vendor capabilities to determine the ability to provide required products or services.
• Provide technical consultation to technical staff and other organizations.
• Work with onsite analysts and government clients to verify intelligence data required for modeling and simulation analyses across engineering and mission-level models.
• Gather capabilities and performance data for classified threat systems to support proper threat model characterization.
• Apply analysis tools, object models, and analytical techniques to support mission-level analyses, including military communications network performance, susceptibility to threats, concept alternatives characterization, development planning, and assessments of new systems, technologies, effectiveness, and lethality.
• Employ Digital Engineering, Digital Thread, and Digital Twin techniques across the system lifecycle.
• Support Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) efforts through technical analysis and program support.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Experience reviewing modeling work for compliance with regulations and best practices.
• Experience developing and maintaining modeling best practices.
• Experience analyzing complex problems and developing relevant models and constraints for dynamic structural, thermal, or similar analyses.
• Experience reviewing and supporting development of models for complex weapon system issues, including networking and communications.
• Background in software engineering with modeling and simulation, radar, or communications.
• Experience with RF and antenna modeling and simulation.
• Experience with technical writing and work in a research environment.
• Experience with command and control processes.
• Experience in an LVC environment.
• Ability to assess RF performance using software tools.
• Ability to adapt current and externally sourced models as needed.
• Experience with modeling and simulation tools such as System Tool Kit (STK), AFSIM, Riverbed Modeler, or similar tools.
• Experience in data management and in composing documentation, analysis reports, and briefings.
• Experience coding in MATLAB, Simulink, or C++.
• Strong statistical analysis or operations research skills.
• Must be a U.S. citizen with a current Top Secret clearance.
