Job Description

This position is critical in ensuring accurate, compliant, and effective documentation across technical and cybersecurity environments. As a Technical Writer, you will play a pivotal role in translating complex technical concepts into clear, concise documentation supporting DoD and Army standards within a high-stakes environment.
- Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation including system manuals, SOPs, reports, and knowledge base content
- Translate complex technical, cybersecurity, and IT concepts into clear, user-friendly documentation for technical and non-technical audiences
- Ensure all documentation aligns with DoD and Army standards, including MIL-STD and applicable style guides
- Collaborate with engineers, cybersecurity professionals, and program stakeholders to gather and validate technical information
- Manage document lifecycle processes, including version control, updates, and archival procedures
- Utilize tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat for document creation, formatting, and diagramming
- Identify documentation gaps and propose improvements to enhance clarity, accuracy, and usability
- Support Agile environments by documenting sprints, workflows, and technical processes as needed
- Maintain consistency in terminology, formatting, and tone across all program documentation
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical writing, preferably within IT, cybersecurity, or defense-related environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Visio, and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience working with SharePoint and other content management systems
- Familiarity with DoD and Army documentation standards, including MIL-STD formats and style guides
- Strong understanding of IT systems, cybersecurity principles, and network infrastructure terminology
- Experience with version control and document lifecycle management
- Excellent grammar, editing, and formatting skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex technical concepts
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
- Familiarity with military terminology and protocols
- Active TS/SCI Clearance REQUIRED
- Experience supporting U.S. Army or other DoD programs
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies
- Background in cybersecurity principles and IT infrastructure
- $100,000 - $115,000 **depending on experience**
