Pay Range $131,300.00 - $237,350.00

This position is onsite in Woodlawn, MD
- Design, develop, and maintain full stack web applications that enable users to explore and analyze complex statistical datasets.
- Build responsive, interactive data visualization tools using modern JavaScript frameworks and visualization libraries.
- Develop intuitive user interfaces that improve access to large public datasets through dynamic filtering, querying, and exploration capabilities.
- Design and optimize APIs and backend services supporting high-performance data delivery.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize large-scale data processing pipelines and automated workflows.
- Create and manage databases and data models supporting enterprise analytics and visualization platforms.
- Refactor legacy applications and workflows into scalable, maintainable, server-based architectures.
- Collaborate with product owners, subject matter experts, data providers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Apply software engineering best practices including automated testing, code reviews, version control, documentation, and CI/CD processes.
- Support application security reviews, deployment activities, and ongoing system maintenance.
- Maintain technical documentation, data schemas, and build processes while ensuring backward compatibility across production systems.
- Troubleshoot application, database, and infrastructure issues across development and production environments.
- Contribute across multiple technical disciplines including software engineering, data engineering, systems administration, and technical consulting.
- Bachelor's degree and 12+ years experience.
- Strong experience developing full stack web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js, React, or similar).
- Experience developing interactive visualizations using D3.js or comparable visualization libraries.
- Strong programming experience with Python and JavaScript.
- Experience building RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and spatial technologies including PostGIS.
- Experience designing and maintaining geospatial data processing workflows.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle practices including version control, testing, and code review.
- Experience developing applications supporting large, complex datasets.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
- Experience with Vue.js, Vuex, XState, Tailwind CSS, Vuetify, GraphQL, Node.js, and jQuery.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Playwright, Vitest, or similar.
- Familiarity with enterprise data governance, statistical data products, or federal data standards.
- Experience supporting secure software development and application authorization processes.
- Experience working with economic, demographic, or public-sector data products.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, technical stakeholders, and business partners.
