Job Description
- Assists in the oversight, planning, and administration of the youth sports and fitness program to include organizing seasonal sports, for the dependent youth of Osan AB.
- Coordinates and resolves customer complaints with management.
- Schedules the use and ensures pre game preparation of sports facilities and equipment.
- Keeps key staff informed of current program status on a daily basis.
- Assists youth in sports with physical, psychological, and social development by teaching fundamental and safe sports skills.
- Organizes and conducts meetings with coaches in player evaluations, drafts, practices, game schedules, and issues of all sporting events.
- Orders and maintains stock control of funds for equipment/supplies, uniforms of all sports.
- Recruits, trains, and appoints volunteers to act as league administrators, managers, coaches, and other related positions within the sports program.
- Ensures volunteers receive required training, i.e., CPR, first aid, etc.
- Ensures proper certification of coaches and maintains documentation.
- Ensures youth sports participants have required physical examinations.
- Collects required data and transmits to supervisor the information needed to submit reportable incidents to leadership and higher headquarters.
- This position requires satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with Air Force and DoD policy, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
- This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical (up to 50 lbs).
- This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain, maintain, and provide evidence of current immunizations this includes annual influenza vaccinations and be free of all communicable diseases.
- Incumbent must be physically in South Korea. Limited to current permanent NAF/APF employees; or 2) Spouses of active-duty military members; or 3) Family members of active-duty military member; or 4) Family members of DoD civilians.
- Irregular working hours may be required to include early shift, late shift, evenings, weekends and holidays when the need arises
- Priority consideration will be given to military spouse preference and family member preference eligible residing in the commuting area of the duty location for this position.
- This position requires the incumbent to be at least 18 years of age.
- Physical demands: Stamina sufficient to stand, walk, run, or squat for long periods of time commensurate with the sport to be officiated.

Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following:1. Substantial knowledge of the rules of the sport to be officiated as evidenced by documented training sessions or seminars that instructed specific rules and regulations, or extensive experience coaching and/or playing the sport which would have provided the same level of knowledge. OR 2. Possession of a valid license or recognized national association credential or certificate for sports officials.*3. The ability to communicate in English (both written and verbal)*Specific certification, license, or credential may be required by individual states, municipalities, or installations. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":
- Six (6) months experience officiating youth sports or any officiating experience.
- Must have experience in organized sports.
- Must have an understanding of youth and adults sports rules and how to enforce them.
- Must possess outstanding communications skills to interact with players, coaches, and parents in a positive manner.
- Must successfully complete National Association for Youth Sports (NAYS) officials training (on-line and/or classroom session) within 30 days of hire.
- Must maintain certification throughout employment.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more and stand for long periods of time.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution in order to qualify.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
