Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary function of the position is to assist the marketing specialist in the development of marketing and advertising programs for the Services Squadron.
Supports Marketing & Publicity by implementing a diversified marketing and communications strategy by promoting 51 FSS programs and events to the Osan community. Implements and maintains messaging on FSS social media and digital platforms. Analyzes social media reach and engagement data to continue growth. Creates marketing campaigns and distributes marketing materials to FSS facilities. Maintains communication with the FSS Program Managers and Leadership and executes timely development, writing, layout, proofing, printing, and distributing publications and advertisements. Promotes FSS activities through multiple media channels including but not limited to social media, digital and print platforms, and smartphone app. Proofreads and distributes advertising material. Researches and executes promotional ideas and items, marketing strategies, and distribution plans. Proposes topics, themes, formats, and content that will engage audiences on social media and generate leads. Presents programs in base newcomers and other briefings, and ombudsman meetings. Ensures that information is properly updated. Stays current on common computer programs, user interface and web technology trends. Ensures integrity of communications by staying informed on legislation and Department of Defense policies that affect internet, social media, and website content. Attends FSS events during workday and after hours to take photographs and/or videos, distribute information and other Marketing support. Uses current graphic design programs to create advertisement for distribution. Performs other related duties as assigned. Attends major Services Squadron events and provides constructive marketing feedback to the activity manager. Assists in conducting advertising campaigns. Obtains information on upcoming events, special programs and offers for activity managers. Assists the Marketing Specialist in developing communication strategies to determine the most effective and efficient method of reaching the target market. Makes recommendations to activity managers on the design of effective advertising vehicles and appropriate media mix. Assists in planning marketing campaigns designed to enhance participation in Services activities by considering the characteristics of the target audience and the media mix necessary to reach them. Assists in conducting media relations with on- and off-base media in concert with the Public Affairs Office. Provides or arranges for photographic support for Services functions. Prepares and presents briefings to base functions such as newcomers orientation and Commander's call. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifying Experience:
Applicant must possess ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing using the English Language. Must have progressively responsible experience and skill in multi-channel social media marketing on the following: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest. Experience must have been sufficiently demanding to demonstrate ability to perform at this pay band level. In addition, must have a working knowledge of corresponding analytics suites of each social medium as well as general website operations and best practices. Experience with using publishing tools such as WordPress as well as MS Office required. Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, HTML, JavaScript and ability to work with deadlines in a wide range of resource types and levels in a fast-paced environment preferred. Strong analytical problem-solving and organizational skills desired. Must have ability to multi-task, work under deadlines and carry a professional presence. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Ensures social media and relevant app information is accurate, and in compliance with AF instructions and guidelines. Ensures inappropriate and out of date content is removed. Performs duties in an effective and efficient manner in accordance with established timeframes. Plans and organizes efforts to achieve organization and functional needs and comply with higher headquarters guidance. Ensures that interactions with internal and external customers are diplomatic and professional. Promptly and courteously receives, greets, and answers questions from customers face to face, telephonically, via email, and via social media. Completed work is reviewed through analysis of results achieved, objectives met/and or programs enhanced. Recommendations are thoroughly researched and analyzed to ensure all issues are properly addressed. Works independently, and as a team. Must possess skill in dealing with customers and public.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
