DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position supports the Marketing Director in developing and executing marketing and communication programs for the Services Squadron. Responsibilities include creating, editing, and proofreading content for print and digital publications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with editorial and government standards, managing publication projects, developing multimedia content, and coordinating promotional campaigns. The role also requires collaboration with internal stakeholders, graphic designers, and production teams to deliver high-quality marketing materials on schedule.

  • Assist in developing and implementing marketing programs and promotional campaigns for the Services/Force Support Squadron.
  • Write, edit, proofread, and produce marketing and communication materials, including news articles, brochures, calendars, feature stories, press releases, advertisements, program overviews, and digital content.
  • Research, develop, and organize content that highlights organizational priorities and initiatives.
  • Ensure publications comply with organizational policies, government regulations, editorial standards, and Associated Press (AP) Style guidelines.
  • Conduct quality assurance (QA) reviews to verify accuracy, completeness, readability, and consistency of published materials.
  • Rewrite and edit content prepared by others to improve clarity, grammar, punctuation, and overall effectiveness.
  • Create multimedia content, including photography and video, to support marketing and public affairs initiatives.
  • Use desktop publishing software and design tools to draft, edit, format, lay out, and produce print and digital publications.
  • Coordinate publication projects from concept through production, printing, distribution, and campaign implementation.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers, production staff, and stakeholders to ensure effective publication layout and design.
  • Manage project timelines, prioritize editing and production schedules, and meet established deadlines.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across multiple organizational levels.
  • Keep leadership informed of project status, potential delays, and emerging requirements.
  • Provide or coordinate photographic support for Force Support Squadron events and activities.
  • Deliver briefings or presentations at Force Support Squadron functions as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience writing, editing, and proofreading marketing, news, or promotional content.
  • Strong knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and journalistic writing standards, including the Associated Press (AP) Stylebook.
  • Ability to research, verify, and fact-check information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Experience creating content for both print and digital platforms.
  • Proficiency with desktop publishing, document editing, and content layout software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience coordinating projects from concept through production and distribution.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in marketing, public affairs, communications, or public relations.
  • Knowledge of government or military communication policies and publication standards.
  • Experience with photography, videography, and multimedia content creation.
  • Familiarity with graphic design principles and working alongside designers.
  • Experience supporting promotional campaigns and organizational events.
  • Comfortable delivering presentations or speaking at organizational functions.




Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution in order to qualify.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
