Job Description
- Develops, coordinates, publishes, maintains, and distributes the Emergency Action Plans (EAP) and the Occupant Emergency Plan (OEP) for the Site.
- Responsible for the completion of Emergency Management data reports; receives, compiles, prepares, and submits annual reports.
- Establishes and coordinates DFAS network exercises to provide training in and testing of emergency/contingency plans, procedures, and programs.
- Prepares After Action Reports (AAR) and makes recommendations and options for problems encountered.
- Promotes and supports individual and community preparedness.

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-09) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized experience is defined as: Assisting with the oversight and program management of systems of prevention and recovery to deal with potential threats to an organization to include defining, establishing, and maintaining roles and responsibilities; providing training on emergency management principles; serving as a coordinator and advisor to management and internal/external customers on various projects.
You may qualify for consideration if meeting specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
GS-11 Substitution of Education for Experience: Three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed higher-level graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.
To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education ( ).
