ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST

• You will be responsible for coordinating and balancing a myriad of environmental efforts to ensure compliance and timely execution of customer needs.
• You will maintain knowledge/oversight of compliance status including inspection discrepancies, status of corrective actions, and permit compliance data.
• You will respond to and oversee spill response team actions.
• You will develop and provide a variety of reports such as annual and biennial reports for regulatory agencies; facility operating reports; and/or annual compliance certifications.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Environmental compliance media management;
2) Knowledge of environmental protection laws, regulations, licensing/permit requirements, and precedent decisions governing environmental operations;
3) Solving complex problems involving diverse aspects of environmental protection; making modifications to established methods, procedures or approaches to solve problems; or revising standard methods to improve processes;
4) Ability to prepare and conduct briefings or training programs, lead group conferences, and write reports and letters.

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
