Clearance: Active U.S. Government Secret clearance or above required
Employment Type: Full-Time
About RogueThink
RogueThink is a forward-thinking IT services provider supporting mission-critical federal and Intelligence Community programs. We deliver secure, high-impact technology solutions in classified and sensitive environments while fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and technical excellence.
Position Overview
The Full Stack Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain modern, responsive web applications with a primary focus on React and Node.js. The role centers on building rich, user-facing React interfaces and Node.js services, integrating with existing back-end services (including .NET) and Oracle databases. The engineer works in an agile scrum environment, contributing to deployment automation, documentation, and testing support.
Key Responsibilities
Front-End Development (React)
• Design and build responsive, component-based user interfaces using React — hooks, state management, and reusable components.
• Implement clean, accessible, high-performance UIs that meet Section 508 accessibility standards.
• Translate user stories and designs into functional, maintainable front-end features.
Node.js Development
• Develop and maintain Node.js services and APIs that power the application's front end.
• Build and integrate RESTful services for data exchange and business logic.
Service and API Integration
• Integrate the React and Node.js front end with the program's back-end services (including .NET) and RESTful Web APIs.
• Collaborate with back-end engineers on the .NET service and data layers to deliver end-to-end features.
Database Integration
• Work with Oracle and SQL Server data through the service layer for retrieval, validation, and reporting.
DevOps and CI/CD
• Use CI/CD tools such as GitLab and Jenkins to manage code repositories, build pipelines, and releases.
• Contribute to continuous integration and delivery for rapid, reliable deployments.
Security and Integration
• Integrate applications with multi-factor authentication (MFA) products such as OKTA and CyberArk.
• Follow secure coding practices and NIST security requirements throughout the development lifecycle.
Agile Collaboration and Testing Support
• Work in an agile scrum environment, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including testers, to resolve issues and support high-quality delivery.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and use Jira for issue and task tracking.
Required Qualifications
• Demonstrated hands-on experience building web applications with React (component architecture, hooks, and state management).
• Hands-on Node.js development building services and APIs.
• Experience integrating front-end applications with .NET and RESTful Web APIs.
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS skills.
• Experience with Oracle or SQL Server data integration.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling (GitLab, Jenkins) and agile scrum delivery.
• Active U.S. Government Secret clearance or above.
• Must reside in the Washington, DC metropolitan (DMV) area and be able to work on-site in Crystal City or Rosslyn, VA as required.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with .NET and C# (ASP.NET Core) in a full-stack capacity.
• Experience with modern .NET (8+), Web API, and Entity Framework Core.
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud-native development (Azure or AWS).
• Experience integrating MFA solutions such as OKTA and CyberArk.
• Experience supporting secure or U.S. Government environments.
