Description: This position supports the Ted Stevens Center for Arctic Security Studies (TSC) located in Anchorage, AK. The TSC is the newest of six Department of War Regional Centers and is focused on executive education, strategic engagement and research and analysis. This position directly supports the Strategic Engagement Division in planning and executing logistical support for various academic, research and outreach events.

Description: This position supports the Ted Stevens Center for Arctic Security Studies (TSC) located in Anchorage, AK. The TSC is the newest of six Department of War Regional Centers and is focused on executive education, strategic engagement and research and analysis. This position directly supports the Strategic Engagement Division in planning and executing logistical support for various academic, research and outreach events.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist with the scheduling and logistical planning of events, including coordination with venues and service providers, participants, senior U.S. and foreign officials, and embassy staff.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of multiple engagement and operational calendars related to TSC events.
- Work with internal and external resources to secure needed materials and services.
- Provide protocol support for domestic and international visits and events
- Conduct other duties as designated that are within the scope of this position.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Experience with calendar creation, coordination and maintenance.
- Minimum one (1) year experience as a participant's program assistant with any DoD agency or regional center, university, or think tank.
- Experience in planning and conducting outreach and engagement activities, and experience integrating functional support activities into events.
- SECRET clearance required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills (both written and oral).
- Experience working with U.S. government agencies, foreign government agencies of U.S. Allies and partners, and U.S. and international military personnel.
- Ability to travel within Alaska, the United States and internationally.
