IT computing services including end-to-end IT support, maintaining network architecture and infrastructure, managing software designs with rapid applications development, and Battle Simulations Exercise Control and technical support for military occupational specialty courses.
Peraton is seeking a Systems Administration, Senior Associate to work onsite at Sierra Vista, Arizona.
What you will do:
System administrator and simulation operator who maintains, upgrades, and resolves issues with Microsoft windows and Linux based servers and workstations. This includes installation and maintenance of hardware, operating systems, anti-virus software, virtualization solutions, and data backup systems. Performing cybersecurity tasks to include STIGs and compliance scanning. Will be required to perform and/or schedule nightly/weekly system backups and restores. All functions are performed in a Zero-trust environment. Responsibilities include:
- General technical maintenance support services for the sustainment of desktop hardware, operating system, and COTS software. The support may be local support, remote assistance or may involve travel to other local government offices. You will assist government IT technical support staff in the documentation and configuration of the new hardware and software.
- Hardware maintenance support, implementations, preventive/preemptive troubleshooting; hardware upgrades (Firmware, BIOS, Service Packs, Memory).
- Providing software (COTS/ in-house custom) support; add, move, or change implementations, routine preventive/preemptive troubleshooting; software upgrades (Versions, OS, Anit-virus).
- Operating simulation systems; providing configuration management of exercise files, launching, and supporting exercises. (i.e. IEWTPT, MUSE, EWPMT, JCATS)
- Provide scripting solutions for data manipulation, transmission, and file transfers (i.e. Perl, Python, PowerShell)
- Exceptional customer service through strong communications and interpersonal skills, responsiveness and understanding of customer needs and ability to follow-through on problem resolution and prevention of problem recurrence.
- Participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
- Provide tier 2 and 3 support on request from various customers. Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.
- Provide technical guidance to team members.
- Document problem resolutions, use best practices and lessons learned.
- Provide customer training as needed to improve effectiveness and ability of customer to leverage information technology.
- Must stay current on cutting edge technology to support training initiatives.
- Must have solid knowledge of SQL databases.
- Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Server performance monitoring, tuning, patching, troubleshooting (diagnostics/recovery), use of MMC and snap-ins.
- Knowledge and experience managing devices, systems, and communication architectures in a geographically dispersed environment.
- Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.
- Cross-training and operation of additional systems will be required
- 3D modeling using commercial solutions
- Cyber security certifications (CASP, Security X)
What you will need:
- 2 years with BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MA; 6 years with no degree
- Security+ Certification
- Top Secret SCI with C/I Poly security clearance or the ability to obtain
Target Salary Range: $66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
