DevSecOps Engineer
CI/CD, GitLab, Linux, & Embedded Systems

We are hiring a DevSecOps Engineer to support the integration and development of vehicle electronic systems within a modern DevSecOps environment. This role focuses on CI/CD automation, GitOps, Linux development, embedded software integration, GitLab, Git, Jira, Python, C/C++, and Agile methodologies, supporting secure software delivery and continuous integration for safety-critical systems.
Responsibilities:
- Support DevSecOps activities for vehicle electronic systems and software integration.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or ArgoCD.
- Implement GitOps principles to automate software deployment and infrastructure management.
- Manage source code repositories using Git, GitLab, Bitbucket, and related version control tools.
- Utilize Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) including Eclipse, Visual Studio Code, and Microsoft Visual Studio.
- Manage and trace software requirements using IBM DOORS.
- Track software development activities using Jira, GitLab Issues, and related ticketing systems.
- Maintain technical documentation and collaborate using Confluence and GitLab Wiki.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Python, Go, or similar scripting languages.
- Troubleshoot low-level software, embedded Linux, and hardware/software integration issues.
- Develop and maintain long-life C and C++ software for embedded and safety-critical applications.
- Support Linux-based development environments, including device drivers, bootloaders, memory maps, and system-level programming.
- Maintain embedded Linux build environments such as Yocto, Buildroot, OpenEmbedded, and Python-based toolchains.
- Support secure software deployment using technologies such as SELinux, verified boot, trusted execution environments, and secure update frameworks.
- Utilize GDB and Qt for software debugging and application development when required.
- Collaborate with software developers to improve deployment processes, automation, and operational efficiency.
- Monitor CI/CD pipelines and proactively identify and resolve build, deployment, and performance issues.
- Apply DevSecOps best practices while supporting Agile software development methodologies.
- Perform technical analysis, data collection, and reporting to support engineering activities.
- Contribute to larger engineering projects while independently managing smaller assignments.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Ability to Obtain a Secret Clearance
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 5-7 years of professional experience in DevSecOps, Software Engineering, Embedded Systems, or related engineering disciplines.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, or similar platforms.
- Experience implementing GitOps methodologies and deployment automation.
- Proficiency with Git, GitLab, Bitbucket, and distributed version control systems.
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment practices.
- Strong scripting skills using Bash, Python, Go, or similar languages.
- Experience developing maintainable C and/or C++ software.
- Ability to troubleshoot embedded software and distinguish hardware-related versus software-related issues.
- Experience using Jira, GitLab Issues, Confluence, GitLab Wiki, and collaboration platforms.
- Experience with Linux operating systems and embedded Linux development.
- Familiarity with IBM DOORS requirements management.
- Experience using Eclipse, Visual Studio Code, or Microsoft Visual Studio.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Linux device drivers, bootloaders, memory maps, and low-level system programming.
- Experience supporting safety-critical or real-time embedded systems.
- Experience with embedded Linux build systems including Yocto, Buildroot, and OpenEmbedded.
- Experience with secure software technologies including SELinux, verified boot, trusted execution environments, and secure update frameworks.
- Experience using GDB (GNU Debugger) and Qt.
- Knowledge of open-source software update frameworks and self-update technologies.
