Job Description



Welding & Fabrication
  • Perform TIG welding on aerospace tubular, sheet‑metal, and structural components
  • Certify and maintain qualification to AWS D17.1 for manual GTAW welding of stainless steel, Inconel, cobalt, and aluminum alloys ranging from 0.020" to 0.300" in all positions
  • Set up and lay out jobs using blueprints, diagrams, fixtures, and welding procedures; perform manual welding including use of rotary turntables
  • Execute solvent cleaning, joint preparation, trimming, sizing, polishing, tack‑welding, and fabrication of shop aids/fixtures to support welding operations
  • Perform machine setups to trim, size, form, inspect, and weld material per fabrication drawing requirements
  • Review drawing requirements for dimensional compliance; select correct filler metals and verify weld‑note callouts

Visual & Specialized Weld Inspection
  • Conduct visual weld inspection using fillet gauges, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and designated final‑inspection fixtures
  • Inspect weld size, face/root reinforcement, cracks, inclusions, porosity, and overall weld quality
  • Perform videoscope inspection to evaluate root‑side weld conditions
  • Maintain, calibrate, and log preventative maintenance for welding and fabrication equipment

Nondestructive Inspection (NDI/NDT)
  • Execute NDI/NDT processes such as Dye Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Eddy Current, and Ultrasonic Inspection in accordance with certified procedures
  • Work under documented NDT procedures that meet customer and regulatory specifications, including control numbers, referenced specs/revisions, and technician signature/date per internal policy
  • Generate and maintain inspection records, including accept/reject results, technique sheets, and documentation required by quality system standards
  • Support weld schedule review and compliance; assist in process control and risk‑reduction activities associated with PFMEA‑based manufacturing controls

Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure daily compliance with customer drawings, specifications, and internal quality system requirements
  • Maintain aerospace‑grade workmanship standards and participate in quality audits as needed
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles including 5S, teamwork, and general housekeeping
  • Follow all business policies, procedures, environmental, and safety requirements

General Duties
  • Manage overall fabrication and assembly efforts
  • Work closely with Engineering, Program Management, Supply Chain and Operations Technicians to meet stated production goals
  • Supervise large diverse Teams in manufacturing, testing and assembly processes
  • Demonstrate sound decision‑making based on experience and available data
  • Work with minimal supervision and manage workload based on production schedules
  • Consistently strive to meet and exceed job performance requirements
  • Other Duties as assigned




Education/Training:
  • Associate's Degree in management or technical/scientific discipline preferred
  • Maintain all welding and NDI certifications


Experience:
  • 10+ years of professional experience in the required task area
  • Ability to pass GTAW welding assessments and certify on required alloy/joint combinations
  • Demonstrated eye‑hand coordination and fine‑detail visual accuracy
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions
  • Mathematical competency for measurement, layout, and process verification
  • Have a strong knowledge of Production Management, Quality Control, and Engineering processes that Support Manufacturing
  • Strong attendance and punctuality record.


  • Security:
    • Must be a US citizen
    • Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required


  • Physical Requirements
    • Vision requirements: Jaeger #2 near‑vision at 12" and 20/30 or better far‑vision (with or without corrective lenses)
    • Able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, grasp and reach with hands and arms, handle and operate hand/power tools and machine controls
    • Perform frequent wrist, hand, and finger movements
    • Prolonged periods of standing while operating machinery
    • Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate safety gear (e.g., eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, etc.) for the assigned task
    • Able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds at a time

Salary:

The projected salary range for this position is $38 - $44 per hour. This is not a guarantee of compensation, rather actual salary will be based on experience, qualifications, and applicable certifications or degrees held. Offered salary may fall outside of this range.
