The Western Region Software Engineering organization comprises more than 800 highly skilled professionals-Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Database Administrators, and Network Engineers-at every career stage, from early-career talent to senior chief engineers and architects. This group supports a wide array of programs and offers clear pathways for advancement into senior technical or leadership roles. The () will develop and test software that runs on resource-constrained targets with soft- and hard-real-time requirements for flight, space, and ground systems. The software typically implements complex data-analysis, routing, and control-algorithm functions. Candidates must be familiar with diverse processor, memory, and I/O architectures and be proficient in both procedural and object-oriented C++ development. Experience with real-time operating systems such as VxWorks or Linux-and their associated development environments and tools-is essential.

The ideal candidate should have academic and professional experience in software engineering across the full life-cycle of automated test sets and test systems for space programs. Proven ability to operate in a process-oriented environment employing waterfall, spiral, or agile methodologies is needed to succeed in this role. Moreover, the selected candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated comfort working on large, multidisciplinary teams in a laboratory setting.

Primary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Determine overall system and user requirements; analyze system capabilities to resolve issues related to program intent, output specifications, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls; author operating instructions; and create utility programs.
