Job Description

GovCIO is currently hiring for a DataCenter Engineer to support Special Operations communication. This position will be in Fort Bragg, North Carolina and will be an onsite position

Responsibilities

Designs, develops, builds, analyzes, evaluates and installs database management systems to include database modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata and repository creation and configuration management. Uses data mapping, data mining and data transformational analysis tools to design and develop databases. Determines data storage and optimum storage requirements. Prepares system requirements, source analysis and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation.

  • Provide technical assistance and support to customers regarding NetApp storage and data management solutions. This may involve troubleshooting and resolving issues, answering customer inquiries, and providing guidance on best practices
  • Install, set up, and configure NetApp storage systems and software solutions at customer sites. Ensure proper connectivity and integration with existing infrastructure, networks, and applications
  • Collaborate with customers, system architects, and project teams to design and architect NetApp storage solutions based on the organization's requirements. This includes assessing storage needs, determining capacity and performance requirements, and proposing the appropriate NetApp storage systems and configurations
  • Create and manage storage volumes, file systems, and LUNs (Logical Unit Numbers) on NetApp storage systems. Allocate storage resources to applications and users, monitor storage utilization, and perform capacity planning
  • Perform routine system maintenance tasks, including software upgrades, patch installations, and firmware updates. Monitor system performance and health, identify potential issues, and proactively address them to ensure optimal system functionality.
  • Set up and manage data backup and disaster recovery solutions using NetApp technologies such as SnapMirror and SnapVault. Design and implement backup policies, perform regular backups, and ensure data integrity and recovery point & recovery time objectives
  • Plan and perform software upgrades, firmware updates, and patch installations on NetApp storage systems. This includes evaluating new releases, assessing compatibility, and implementing upgrade procedures while minimizing downtime
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of NetApp storage systems, identify bottlenecks and optimize system performance. This may involve tuning storage parameters, implementing caching mechanisms, and adjusting configurations
  • Investigate and troubleshoot customer-reported issues, analyzing logs and diagnostic data to identify the root cause. Apply appropriate solutions, workarounds, or escalate complex issues to higher-level support teams if required

Qualifications

High School with 10+ years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience
  • Clearance Required: TS/SCI
  • CompTIA Security+ Plus Certification
  • Demonstrated ability in the implementation, configuration, and management of end-to-end Datacenter technologies comprised of Cisco Networking, VMware Compute & Virtualization, and NetApp Data Storage
  • Complex provisioning, preventative maintenance, implementation of disaster recovery architecture and supporting documentation for NetApp FAS and Hyper-converged Infrastructure solutions to include NetApp HCI & NetApp StorageGRID
  • Configuration and management of data protection relationships via Snapmirror and SnapVault to provide disaster recovery and data archival across an Enterprise global storage environment
  • Implementation of tools data storage management, monitoring and performance tools such as NetApp Snapcenter, NetApp Virtual Storage Console, and NetApp OnCommand Unified Manager
  • Providing VMware vSphere architecture, implementation and support, utilizing best practices for availability, reliability, and performance of compute, network, and storage resources to achieve dense virtualization ratios while maintaining SLAs and surpassing disaster recovery RTO/RPO's.
  • Implementation of virtualization tools such as vRealize Operations Manager (VROPs) to daily proactive health checks, performance and workload optimizations capacity management, and in-depth reporting

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • PMP
  • VMware Certified Professional
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate
  • Azure Administrator Associate
  • ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related fields
  • Experience support U.S. Special Operations
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and working with Agile teams using collaboration tools such as Gitlab
