Job Description



As an AVIATION RESOURCE MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, GS-0301-9, you will:
  • Provide preflight briefings to military aircrews, reviews and evaluates proposed flight plans reviews and evaluates aircrew currencies and orders
  • Provide preflight briefings to military and civilian aircrews, reviews and evaluates proposed flight plans
  • Perform the testing, and evaluation of new ARMS patches, updates, or releases and performs the Installation of ARMS on computers for new users or on replacement equipment
  • Control and monitor the resource and training requirements of assigned rated and non-rated aircrew for mission accomplishment and safety of flight
  • Work independently to provide aircrew with information and assistance for planning and conducting safe flight operations
  • Perform other Duties as Assigned







Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Military Grades: A1C/E-3 to SSgt/E-5

Selectee has one (1) year to obtain required AFSC

Security Clearance: Must have Security Clearance OR willing to obtain it within one (1) year of employment.

Additional Employment Requirements:
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service

  • Title 32 Dual-Status Positions: Compatible Military Assignments

    Appointments may require the selected candidate to be assigned to a *military unit* compatible with the full-time Military Technician (Dual Status) position.

    *Military Unit* -- The unit by which the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee; or a unit that the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee to support. (Guidance established by NJ HRO-J1)


General Experience:
Experience, education, or training interpreting, explaining, and/or applying a variety of regulations and procedures and using computer and automation systems.

Specialized Experience:
Must have at least 24 months experience, education, or training in the following:
  • Arranging or procuring transportation for personnel, cargo or freight.
  • Pre and post auditing of freight bills, bills of lading, and personnel transportation vouchers.
  • Coordinating and negotiating with organizations/personnel both orally and in writing to resolve differences/problems.
