The Training & Ops Integration Level II Manager is a Teledyne Brown Engineering management position on the Marshall Operations, Systems, Services, and Integration (MOSSI) contract, reporting directly to the MOSSI Program Manager (PM). The Training and Ops Integration Level II Manager is responsible for the overall execution of the Training and Ops Integration Team (Sim Team, Training Integration, JSC SPI, MTC, PD Training and OSM) and coordinates with the MOSSI PM and Deputy PM on plans to meet contract obligations and ensure excellent customer satisfaction. The ability to develop metrics and reports for senior contract and customer management to communicate organization status is required. The Training & Ops Integration Level II Manager coordinates with the respective Level III Managers to communicate strategy, schedule, and milestones which meet contractual requirements and objectives. Collaborating and integrating across teams in multiple branches to successfully execute ISS and multi-project payload operations is a must. Support of POI meetings, Branch, staff, and Flight Readiness Reviews (FRRs) are required. The Level II Manager is tasked with other responsibilities/duties as assigned by Teledyne management.
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering/Science preferred. Applicants should have 10 years of work experience in management, coordination, spaceflight operations, science, or engineering. Holding a position certification/qualification (current or previous) is preferred.
- Candidates must have experience managing technical teams as well as spaceflight operations experience.
- This position requires functional knowledge of ISS payload operations and an understanding of internal and external POI discipline interfaces.
The successful candidate must be assertive and forward thinking with the ability to lead a multi-discipline team. This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills essential to interfacing with all levels of contractor and customer management. The ability to develop requirements, assign and meet deadlines, give appropriate attention to detail, give technical and editorial direction, and confidently and effectively present information is required. Candidates must understand payload operations and be able to provide guidance to teams gathering requirements and developing products for successful science operations on ISS and other projects. A working knowledge of Microsoft office products, including SharePoint is required.
Candidates must also have the soft skills necessary to lead a team, including excellent interpersonal skills that enhance communication and provide vision to the team. Appropriate skills are needed to mentor Level III managers and team members, motivate, encourage, and promote teamwork, and give appropriate direction for completion of tasks. The successful candidate must be able to build a strong and positive working relationship with the NASA HP21 Office Manager.
This job provides general supervision to a functional area which may include supervision of lower-level supervisors and direct supervision of other exempt and non-exempt personnel. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include providing leadership to employees, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
