Junior Mechanical Engineer (5925)
GVI, Inc, a Federal Government Contractor industry leader, is seeking an Entry Level Mechanical Engineerto effectively and efficiently support Naval Sea Logistics Command byprovidingengineering technical supportat its Mechanicsburg, PA, location.
Primary Responsibilities:
- 1.1. Review and make changes as required to address Engineering Support Requests (ESRs), and Technical Referrals (TRs). Technical deliverables will be completed in accordance with identified program timelines. Expected accuracy is 95%. Summary of actions and turn-around time should be provided as part of monthly report.
- 1.2. Research and review engineering documentation, including but not limited to design drawings, technical manuals, maintenance standards, and commercial/military specifications or standards, to adjudicate a variety of engineering technical issues encountered during the procurement process. Contact Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and suppliers to gather equipment technical data and procurement information.
- 1.3. Perform daily ESR and TR processing to include pulling reports, formatting data, and importing files for tracking and work utilizing multiple Navy data systems. Distribute incoming ESR and TR cases and update case information accordingly in the appropriate Navy data system.
- 1.4. Assist NAVSEALOGCEN in developing project documentation. Collect and coordinate information for use in executive level briefings. Provide support for development and analysis of project plans, project processes and performance metrics. Assist with planning, coordinating, conducting and recording project management meetings. Assist with project monitoring and control efforts, including critical path management and plans of action and milestones. Manage document files. Provide technical recommendations for program documentation in accordance with DoD 5000.1 and DoD 5000.2 and SECNAV 5000.2.
- 1.5. Documents may also include, as required, Draft Policy and Processes, Tradeoff Studies, Market Research, Production Scheduling Plans, Quality Assurance Plans, Briefing Packages, Project Plans, Meeting Plans, Meeting Reports, Critical Path Analyses and Plan of Action and Milestones.
Position Requirements:
- US Citizen.
- Active Secret Clearance. (We will sponsor the right candidate.)
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Personal computer literate with knowledge of email, word processing and spreadsheets. MS Office suite.
- Experience with common office equipment, e.g. fax machines, copiers, projectors and PC printers.
