Dell AX Infrastructure Engineer
Hourly W2 Rate: $77-87/hr

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Dell AX Infrastructure Engineer to support a complex enterprise environment built on Dell-integrated infrastructure platforms and Microsoft Azure Local technologies. This role requires a technically strong professional with expertise in lifecycle management, infrastructure modernization, platform support, and cross-vendor coordination. The successful candidate will help ensure infrastructure environments remain secure, supported, and aligned with evolving technology roadmaps.

The ideal candidate will possess significant experience with Azure Local platforms, integrated infrastructure solutions, hybrid cloud environments, and enterprise infrastructure operations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support Microsoft Azure Local lifecycle management activities across Dell AX infrastructure environments.
Plan, coordinate, and execute infrastructure upgrades, maintenance events, patching efforts, and platform updates.
Manage Dell AX lifecycle activities, including version management, compatibility reviews, supportability assessments, and technology refresh planning.
Evaluate and validate compatibility between Dell AX infrastructure and Microsoft Azure Local releases.
Coordinate with hardware manufacturers, software vendors, and third-party technology partners to address integration issues and platform requirements.
Monitor product roadmaps and upcoming releases to assess impacts on existing infrastructure solutions and develop recommendations.
Create, maintain, and enhance technical documentation, operational procedures, implementation guides, maintenance runbooks, and support documentation.
Develop and maintain support matrices covering infrastructure versions, hardware configurations, firmware levels, drivers, and validated deployment models.
Identify lifecycle risks, interoperability concerns, support gaps, and version dependencies while providing actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
Support testing initiatives, release planning, change management activities, platform validation, and adoption of new capabilities.
Provide technical leadership regarding infrastructure supportability, interoperability, lifecycle strategy, and operational best practices.
Act as a trusted technical advisor to stakeholders, engineering teams, and operational support personnel.

Required Qualifications

Hands-on experience managing Microsoft Azure Local lifecycle activities within enterprise environments.
Strong knowledge of Dell AX infrastructure platforms supporting Microsoft Azure Local deployments.
Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure environments with multiple vendors and integrated technology stacks.
Deep understanding of Microsoft Azure Local architecture, lifecycle management processes, software releases, and platform roadmap considerations.
Experience developing and maintaining technical documentation, including:
Upgrade and maintenance procedures
Operational and support guides
Technical support documentation
Validation and compatibility matrices
Ability to evaluate and document interoperability across:
Infrastructure platforms
Hardware configurations
Firmware versions
Operating systems and software releases
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively across engineering teams, operations teams, and external vendors.
Experience independently managing technical initiatives and driving projects through successful completion.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting Dell-integrated infrastructure platforms, hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI), or hybrid cloud solutions.
Experience with lifecycle governance, release management, and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
Background in interoperability testing, validation processes, and infrastructure change management.
Knowledge of firmware, driver, operating system, and platform compatibility requirements.
Experience working directly with hardware manufacturers and software vendor support organizations.
Familiarity with enterprise data center operations and large-scale infrastructure environments.
