Supports the maintenance and enhancement of applications for joint intelligence operations, focusing on combatant command workflows. It works to improve technology effectiveness, eliminate overlaps, and prioritize customer needs by delivering data and new capabilities to support mission success.
Peraton is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in our Herndon, VA location to support a large software development classified program. The selected candidate should have experience with agile software methodology, and software engineering design best practices. The candidate will work within a cross-functional Scrum team, and will be responsible for developing software, participating in acceptance criteria development, creating scripts, and utilizing Open Source and COTS tools to automate testing, documenting instructions, and participating in integration activities.
Responsibilities:
- Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
- Confers with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
- Designs, develops, and modifies software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design.
- Coordinates software system installations and monitors equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.
- Performs software engineering and development activities associated with supporting, maintaining, and enhancing software.
- Develops and integrates bug fixes and new feature enhancements using DIA standard development tools and processes (e.g., Java, Git, GitLab).
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an area relevant to the position with 12+ years of relevant experience OR a Master's degree in an area relevant to the position with 10+ years of relevant experience; an additional 4 years of relevant experience maybe considered in lieu of a degree.
- Active TS/SCI or SCI eligibility and active polygraph or ability to obtain a polygraph
- Programming Language Experience including - but not limited to -Java, JavaScript, SQL and Python.
- Experience in RHEL and ORACLE environments.
- AWS technologies: PostgreSQL, Oracle.
- Experience using modern techniques such as REST, JSON, Spring, Spring Boot, JavaScript, Ember.js, Nextjs/React, GraphQL frameworks.
- Experience with Docker, KeyCloak, Wildfly, Tomcat, ArcGIS.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Full-time work in a SCIF
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience using Git, Jenkins, GitLab.
- Experience with EC2, S3, RDS.
- Understanding of and experience with network administration and security protocols on various domains.
- Experience with Joint Intelligence Operations Command (JIOC) applications and/or intelligence data.
- Experience within the DIA (Defense Intelligence Agency) or other DoD security domains highly desired.
Target Salary Range: $135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
