Job Summary:
This position provides Special Operations Forces (SOF) planning and operational subject matter expertise and staff support to the Joint Multinational Readiness Center (JMRC) Operations Group (OPSGRP) located at Hohenfels, Germany. JMRC's mission is to train Multinational Interoperability to U.S., NATO, and partner nation forces up to the Brigade level in an extended Live, Virtual, and Constructive Decisive Action Training Environment. JMRC supports the U.S. Army Europe theater security cooperation plan through planning and participation in NATO and U.S. Army Europe exercise programs.
The Special Operations Forces (SOF) Planner is a SOF Subject Matter Expert (SME) and supporting member of the JMRC with focus on training SOF/Conventional Forces Interdependence, Interoperability and Integration (SOF/CF I3). SOF Planner's work in support of JMRC rotations/exercises includes development, review, coordination, revision, integration and timely delivery of exercise scenarios, orders and events that replicate real world SOF operations/contingencies with an intended training objective of preparing non-conventional and conventional forces for success in current and future missions. SOF Planner provides SOF SME/Planner advice, guidance, technical assistance, recommendations and assessment of unit readiness and capability to JMRC in support of training exercises. This support will occur throughout the full Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) process period for each training exercise.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities :
- Serve as Special Operations Forces (SOF) Planner and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Joint Multinational Readiness Center (JMRC), providing SOF planning, integration, and advisory support across joint and combined training rotations.
- Write and produce doctrinally correct SOF Warning Orders (WARNOs), Operations Orders (OPORDs), Fragmentary Orders (FRAGOs), complex battlefield injects, and target packets in support of joint, combined, conventional, and unconventional exercises.
- Develop and design exercise scenarios and manage the Master Events List (MEL) to drive exercise flow and achieve training objectives; incorporate relevant Warfighting Functions (WfF), SOF organizational structures and interrelationships, TTPs, and joint/service doctrine into all scenario designs.
- Review, coordinate, evaluate, and integrate exercise actions and events to ensure realism, synchronization, and alignment with commander's intent and training objectives.
- Coordinate and integrate SOF force involvement into overall exercise planning and operations, ensuring continuity, logical flow, and realistic replication of SOF activities within the larger conventional framework.
- Serve as a SOF Scripter during exercise execution in a dynamic, fast-paced environment; modify or replace planned events and rapidly integrate changes based on training unit plans and actions to ensure exercise objectives are met.
- Utilize Time-Phased Force and Deployment Data (TPFDD) and associated Joint Manning Documents (JMDs) to enable realistic SOF and joint force integration injects during training exercises.
- Assess operational readiness and SOF/CF integration of SOF and conventional units throughout the exercise, identifying strengths, shortfalls, and trends.
- Provide substantive written and oral reports and briefings to Observer/Controllers and senior leadership on commander, staff, and unit capabilities, performance, and SOF/CF interoperability.
- Develop, review, and revise military training plans, standards, and supporting products to improve exercise design, execution, and training outcomes.
- Analyze plans, operational data, intelligence information, and systems; develop estimates, identify deficiencies, and recommend corrective actions or improvements.
- Collect qualitative and quantitative data during exercises and transform it into analytical products, observations, insights, and lessons learned to inform future training and doctrinal refinement.
Qualifications
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Experienced in USSOCOM Operations particularly as it pertains to Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force integration, interoperability, and interdependency with conventional forces.
- Doctrinal knowledge of U.S./NATO conventional and unconventional operations.
- Possess the level of communication skills required to effectively and efficiently brief military and civilian leadership via written products or oral presentations.
- Proficient in MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to work long hours on consecutive days/nights in support of exercise preparation, execution, evaluation and close-out.
