Data Architect (Remote)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to design, develop, and maintain enterprise data architecture solutions supporting mission-critical government programs. The Data Architect will be responsible for designing scalable relational databases, developing data warehouse architectures, and translating business requirements into long-term data management strategies.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience with enterprise data modeling, database architecture, metadata management, and data integration across complex environments.

The Data Architect will be responsible for designing scalable relational databases, developing data warehouse architectures, and translating business requirements into long-term data management strategies.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise relational database architectures.
- Develop long-term data architecture strategies aligned with business and mission objectives.
- Design and implement scalable data warehouse solutions and dimensional data models.
- Create and maintain logical and physical data models.
- Develop strategies for data acquisition, migration, archival, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Design and maintain metadata repositories and enterprise data dictionaries.
- Evaluate and recommend database technologies, hardware, and software platforms.
- Integrate data across multiple systems and applications.
- Assess existing data assets and identify opportunities for reuse and optimization.
- Review and refine object models, data models, and metadata structures to improve data quality, governance, and accessibility.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, application developers, database administrators, and system architects to support enterprise data initiatives.
- Ensure enterprise data solutions are secure, scalable, reliable, and aligned with organizational standards.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in data architecture, database design, or enterprise data management.
- Experience designing enterprise relational databases and data warehouse environments.
- Experience developing logical, physical, and dimensional data models.
- Experience designing enterprise metadata repositories and data governance structures.
- Experience evaluating database technologies and enterprise data platforms.
- Experience integrating data from multiple enterprise systems.
Required Technical Skills
Data Modeling Tools
Experience with one or more of the following:
- ER/Studio
- ERwin Data Modeler
- SAP PowerDesigner
- Comparable enterprise data modeling tools
- Relational database design
- Data warehouse architecture
- Dimensional data modeling
- Metadata repository management
- Database architecture

- Enterprise data governance
- Backup, recovery, and archival strategies
Candidates should possess experience with one or more of the following Microsoft enterprise technologies or equivalent:
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)
- Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)
- Microsoft Certified Master (MCM)
- Microsoft Certified Architect (MCA)
- Windows Server administration and Active Directory technologies
Security Requirements
- Active Secret Security Clearance is required.
- Must possess IT-I (Critical Sensitive) eligibility.
- Must possess IT-II / Tier 3 (Moderate Risk) eligibility, including one of the following at the time of proposal submission:
- Current Tier 3 Investigation
- NACLC
- ANACI
- Equivalent National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Federal Government or Department of Defense (DoD) environments.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Experience implementing enterprise data governance frameworks.
- Familiarity with Agile and DevSecOps methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
