Job Description

Responsibilities

This position is to perform GEOINT remote sensing analysis trades and studies of diverse spacecraft platforms and sensor phenomenology. Tasks will require operation and/or development of simulations and models. The successful candidate will perform Modeling & Simulation Analysis as part of Trade Studies, Analysis of Alternatives, and Assessments of system performance against requirements.

  • Conducts logical analysis of management problems and developing multivariate analysis, linear modeling, and data mining.
  • Uses computer technology, computer modeling, spreadsheet applications, software tools, and programming languages.
  • Analyses data and conducts advanced statistical analyses and applies mathematical calculations.
  • Presents findings and recommendations to appropriate groups and helps to determine what actionable steps can be taken based on the findings.
  • Communicates and trains users on model results.
  • Prepares written, non-technical reports to management, indicating analytical finding and models.
  • May supervise more junior staff and schedule work to meet completion dates.
  • Guides predictive analytics model development. Interfaces with customer and helps define work process.
  • May estimate time frames, quality and quantity of resources required to successfully implement project; develops project plan incorporating all project variables.
  • May establish criteria concerning deliverability, performance, maintenance, design and costs.
  • May conduct periodic status checks with customers and team to assess progress against plan.
  • May perform re-forecasts of project variables as necessary throughout project and prepare routine status reports on all project activities.
  • May be assigned responsibility for the management of the function, including associated staff.

Qualifications

  • Must have current TS/SCI Clearance with adjudicated polygraph.
  • BS with 8-10 years related experience, MS with 6-8 years of related experience, PhD with 3-5 years of related experience in engineering (e.g. aerospace, mechanical,. electrical, computer/software), data science, physics, mathematics, or similar technical discipline.
  • In depth experience in at least one of the following disciplines: Collection Performance, Resource Allocation, Multi-band Remote Sensing, Sensor Engineering, Product Quality, Vehicle Engineering, Orbit Mechanics, Functional Availability, Geolocation Accuracy.
  • Experience with Modeling & Simulation Analysis, including tool set-up and execution.
  • Demonstrated experience in performance data analytics and assessments.
  • Experience leading Analysis projects and/or studies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills; Experience using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative technical solutions or approaches to problems.
  • Strong systems analysis skills, with the ability to identify and accurately describe system issues.
  • Experienced in utilizing more than one: Python, Tableau, Matlab, Systems Tool Kit.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills; Demonstrated ability to clearly explain technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
