Job Description

Summary
The MBSE Systems Engineer will support the design, development, and integration of enterprise-level architectures within a digital engineering environment. This role focuses on applying Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to develop scalable, interoperable solutions across complex DoD systems. Candidates will work within a mature digital engineering ecosystem, leveraging SysML, DoDAF/UAF frameworks, and modern architecture practices to support mission-critical operations. Opportunities are open across multiple levels (Junior through SME), with strong growth and training support in MBSE and digital engineering.

Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain system, operational, and enterprise architectures using MBSE methodologies
• Build and manage SysML/UML models capturing requirements, workflows, interfaces, and mission threads
• Translate operational and business requirements into scalable solution architectures
• Define integration patterns, data exchanges, and interoperability requirements across systems
• Support digital engineering strategy, including digital thread and model-based decision support
• Establish and maintain architecture governance, modeling standards, and technical baselines
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, cybersecurity, test, and program management
• Support technology roadmaps, transition planning, and system modernization efforts
• Present architecture designs and technical findings to stakeholders and leadership

Qualifications
• U.S. Citizenship required
• Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
Experience (varies by level):
• Junior: 0–3 years (foundational systems engineering knowledge)
• Intermediate: 3–8 years (hands-on MBSE / integration experience)
• Senior: 8–11 years (architecture ownership, system design experience)
• SME: 12+ years (enterprise architecture leadership, strategy, and large-scale program support)
Core Skills:
• Experience with systems engineering and system architecture design
• Knowledge of MBSE methodologies and SysML/UML modeling
• Familiarity with DoDAF or UAF frameworks
• Experience with system integration and interoperability in complex environments
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Skills
• Hands-on experience with Cameo, MagicDraw, Sparx EA, Rhapsody, or similar tools
• Experience supporting DoD programs or large enterprise systems
• Familiarity with:
○ Digital thread / digital twin concepts
○ Cloud, DevSecOps, or Zero Trust environments
○ COTS/ERP integration
• Experience generating model-based documentation and artifacts
• Certifications (OCSMP, INCOSE, TOGAF, etc.)
