Overview

Electronic Technician I -Training Range Systems

Location: Fort Polk/Fort Johnson Louisiana

V2X is looking for an entry-level Electronic Technician I to support Army training systems at Fort Polk/Johnson. You'll help maintain the electronic Training Aids and Devices used in JRTC Live Fire Exercises ready for Soldiers.

You'll work on Theisen Targets, and Tracer II Targets systems; Training and mentorship are provided.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

• Install and operate targets in pits, buildings, and bunkers
• Help perform preventive and corrective maintenance on training devices and Government Furnished Property (GFP).
• Use technical manuals and checklists in InSITE (maintenance management system).
• Set up wireless network and manipulate a peer-to-peer and client/server network
• Install batteries and simulator devices in the vicinity of target arrays
• Record all maintenance actions in InSITE in real time.
• Test and verify systems for proper operation and interoperability before/after training events.
• Assist with hardware/software updates and roll back to previous versions if needed.
• Track parts and equipment by part number, serial number, and location, including warranty items.
• Cut brush, tree limbs, trees, and grass to maintain work area

• Requires mental alertness and ability to follow written and verbal instructions given in English.
• Physical ability to walk, run, stand, and/or sit for extended periods of time.
• Lift 50lbs on a consistent and repetitive basis.

• The applicant must be a US citizen, possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

Degree(s)/Years of Experience:

• Associate's Degree in Electronics/Electrical Technology or related field, or
• High school diploma/GED plus 1+ year electronics or maintenance experience (military, trade school, or commercial).

• Basic skills with hand tools, test equipment, and computers.

Certification(s):

None

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with TADSS, MILES, or other military training systems.
• Prior military or defense contractor maintenance experience.
