SAP Functional Consultant - Finance & Logistics is needed for a REMOTE opportunity with SOC's client

Active Secret clearance preferred, but open to U.S. Citizens who can obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Estimated Duration: 6 month contract to hire

Position Summary
The SAP Functional Consultant - Finance & Logistics supports the design, configuration, implementation, testing, and sustainment of SAP S/4HANA Finance and Logistics solutions for the Joint Transportation Management System (JTMS). This position serves as a functional expert across Financial Accounting (FI), Controlling (CO), Funds Management (FM), and Sales & Distribution (SD), partnering with government stakeholders, business process owners, and technical teams to modernize enterprise financial and logistics operations supporting Department of Defense mission requirements.
The consultant is responsible for translating business requirements into SAP solutions, ensuring integration across finance, supply chain, transportation, and logistics business processes while supporting Agile delivery throughout the system lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure, implement, and support SAP S/4HANA functionality within:
  • Financial Accounting (FI)
  • Controlling (CO)
  • Funds Management (FM)
  • Sales & Distribution (SD)
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional designs, system configurations, and technical specifications.
  • Support end-to-end financial and logistics business processes including:
    • General Ledger (GL)
    • Accounts Payable (AP)
    • Accounts Receivable (AR)
    • Asset Accounting (AA)
    • Cost Center Accounting
    • Internal Orders
    • Budget Control
    • Funds Management
    • Sales Order Processing
    • Billing
    • Pricing
    • Customer Master Data
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to improve financial controls, reporting, and logistics operations.
  • Participate in Fit-to-Standard workshops, business process reengineering sessions, and solution demonstrations.
  • Develop Functional Design Documents (FDDs), configuration documentation, business process procedures, and training materials.
  • Prepare functional specifications for Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows (RICEFW).
  • Partner with ABAP developers during development, testing, and deployment activities.
  • Support master data governance for financial, customer, and organizational data.
  • Perform configuration, unit testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing, and defect resolution.
  • Analyze production issues and provide Tier II/Tier III application support.
  • Support data migration and reconciliation activities for financial and logistics master and transactional data.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Assist with release management, production deployments, and post-production stabilization.
  • Support cybersecurity, audit, Authority to Operate (ATO), and compliance activities as required.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of SAP functional experience supporting one or more of the following:
  • SAP FI
  • SAP CO
  • SAP FM
  • SAP SD
  • Experience implementing or supporting SAP S/4HANA.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise financial management and logistics business processes.
  • Experience writing functional specifications for custom SAP developments.
  • Experience supporting testing, production support, and system enhancements.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense ERP modernization programs.
  • Experience with SAP Activate implementation methodology.
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.
  • Experience integrating FI/CO/FM/SD with:
  • Materials Management (MM)
  • Transportation Management (TM)
  • Extended Warehouse Management (EWM)
  • Enterprise Asset Management (EAM)
  • Global Trade Services (GTS)
  • Experience with SAP Fiori applications.
  • Familiarity with SAP Cloud ALM or Solution Manager.
  • Understanding of transportation, logistics, and financial operations supporting USTRANSCOM or other DoD organizations.
  • Active Secret clearance.

Desired Certifications
  • SAP Certified Application Associate - Financial Accounting (FI)
  • SAP Certified Application Associate - Management Accounting (CO)
  • SAP Certified Application Associate - Sales (SD)
  • SAP S/4HANA Certification in Finance or Logistics
  • Agile Scrum Certification (CSM, SAFe, or equivalent)
  • Security+ (preferred for DoD environments)

JTMS-Specific Experience
Preferred candidates will possess experience supporting large-scale SAP S/4HANA modernization initiatives within the Department of Defense, with expertise in integrating enterprise financial management and logistics capabilities to support transportation planning, execution, budgeting, accounting, and mission readiness. Experience working in Agile delivery environments and collaborating with functional, technical, cybersecurity, and program management teams is highly desired.
