Job Description

Position Summary

The Air Force Inventory Management Specialist provides expert inventory management, item management, and asset accountability support to ensure the availability and readiness of Air Force materiel worldwide. This position applies comprehensive knowledge of inventory management principles, demand planning, repair requirements, and Air Force supply systems to maintain inventory accuracy, optimize stock levels, and resolve complex inventory issues in support of the 638th Supply Chain Management Group (SCMG). The specialist analyzes inventory performance, develops inventory strategies, and ensures materiel is available to meet mission requirements while maximizing inventory efficiency and stewardship of Government resources.

## Key Responsibilities

* Perform item management functions, including inventory planning, requirements determination, stock level analysis, and replenishment actions.
* Monitor inventory health by analyzing demand history, stockage levels, backorders, excess inventory, and asset availability to maintain optimal inventory balances.
* Evaluate inventory performance and validate repair requirements to support asset availability through organic and contract repair programs.
* Analyze inventory discrepancies, research causative factors, and implement corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy and accountability.
* Maintain accurate inventory records and supporting documentation in accordance with Air Force policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
* Conduct inventory analyses using Government information systems to identify trends, forecast requirements, and recommend inventory optimization strategies.
* Resolve complex inventory management issues through data analysis, problem resolution, and coordination with supply, maintenance, engineering, and acquisition stakeholders.
* Prepare inventory reports, metrics, dashboards, and management briefings to communicate inventory status, readiness, and performance.
* Support inventory audits, reconciliation efforts, and compliance reviews to ensure accountability of Government assets.
* Apply knowledge of Air Force inventory management policies, budgeting processes, and automated supply systems to support lifecycle sustainment activities.
* Provide technical guidance and support to Government personnel on inventory management processes and best practices.

Required Qualifications
* Minimum of 8 years of experience in Air Force or DoD inventory management, item management, supply management, or acquisition sustainment.
* Demonstrated experience analyzing inventory data, managing materiel requirements, and resolving inventory discrepancies.
* Knowledge of Air Force supply and inventory management systems, inventory control procedures, and sustainment operations.
* Active DoD Secret security clearance required (no interim clearance provision); must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
* Ability to pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) for access to Government information systems.
* Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing reports, briefings, and recommendations for Government stakeholders.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and standard Government inventory management and logistics information systems.
* Ability to work on-site, co-located with Government personnel in Georgia.
* U.S. citizenship required.
