DESCRIPTION OF POSITION / DUTIES:
All Points is seeking a Systems Administrator II to support NASA operations at Glenn Research Center (GRC) in Cleveland, OH. The selected candidate will provide mid-level systems administration support across Windows and Linux environments, supporting mission, enterprise, and business systems within a secure and highly regulated NASA environment.
This role is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and security of servers, workstations, virtual environments, and associated infrastructure. The successful candidate will help ensure operational availability, performance, compliance, and cybersecurity posture while supporting NASA mission and business requirements.

All Points is seeking a Systems Administrator II to support NASA operations at Glenn Research Center (GRC) in Cleveland, OH. The selected candidate will provide mid-level systems administration support across Windows and Linux environments, supporting mission, enterprise, and business systems within a secure and highly regulated NASA environment.
This role is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and security of servers, workstations, virtual environments, and associated infrastructure. The successful candidate will help ensure operational availability, performance, compliance, and cybersecurity posture while supporting NASA mission and business requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Monitor system performance, security, and availability of Linux and/or Windows servers and appliances.
- Install, configure, patch, maintain, and upgrade Linux and/or Windows operating systems and associated applications.
- Perform routine system administration activities including software installations, operating system upgrades, and infrastructure maintenance.
- Assist in managing storage resources, virtual machines, and virtual networking configurations within the enterprise environment.
- Manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs), access permissions, and user access controls.
- Manage and support physical and virtual hardware systems.
- Identify, recommend, implement, and maintain administrative and operational tools.
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for incidents and service requests related to Linux and/or Windows environments.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating system, and network-related issues.
- Collaborate with technical teams and provide guidance to resolve complex infrastructure issues.
- Diagnose hardware failures and coordinate corrective actions.
- Create, manage, maintain, and regularly test backup solutions for critical systems.
- Assist with disaster recovery planning, testing, and business continuity activities.
- Implement operating system security baselines, security policies, and security patching requirements.
- Support secure operating system image configurations and hardware security requirements.
- Ensure systems remain compliant with organizational and industry security standards.
- Identify and remediate hardware and software vulnerabilities.
- Support periodic security assessments and compliance reviews.
- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting activities.
- Generate reports related to system health, performance, availability, and security posture.
- Work closely with network, storage, application, and infrastructure teams to improve system performance and reliability.
- Assist with mentoring and training junior administrators and support personnel.
- Participate in ongoing technical training and professional development activities.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
- 4+ years of systems administration experience.
SKILLS / CERTIFICATIONS:
Required Technical Skills:
- Experience administering Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
- Experience supporting enterprise systems administration environments.
- Experience supporting servers, workstations, IT infrastructure, and hardware systems.
- Working knowledge of Linux and/or Windows command-line tools and administrative tasks.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and networking fundamentals
- Understanding of virtualization concepts and platforms such as VMware, Nutanix, or Hyper-V.
- Experience with HCL BigFix.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with hardware virtualization technologies and Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) platforms.
- Experience with Cohesity storage platforms.
- Experience with automation technologies such as Ansible and Terraform.
- Experience with scripting languages including Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
- Experience supporting backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Understanding of system security practices, firewalls, and VPN technologies.
- Experience with ITSM processes and service management methodologies.
- Experience working within Agile environments using Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe.
- Experience using Jira and/or ServiceNow.
- System performance monitoring and tuning.
- Security compliance and vulnerability remediation.
- Backup administration and disaster recovery testing.
- Server and workstation lifecycle management.
- Configuration management and documentation.
- Cross-functional support of enterprise infrastructure environments.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain NASA Public Trust / NASA badging required.
- Approximately $75,000 - $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
