Job Title: General Maintenance Worker II


Job Summary:


Perform intermediate-level general maintenance tasks in support of facility operations at FLETC Charleston and Naval Weapons Station. As LAUKOA’s General Maintenance Worker II, you will handle a variety of repairs and upkeep duties across campus buildings, ensuring functionality and safety of government facilities in accordance with established standards and schedules.

Responsibilities:


  • Perform building repairs including patching walls, painting, replacing tiles, and minor plumbing or electrical work.

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair facility fixtures, doors, windows, furniture, and hardware.

  • Assist with preventive maintenance duties under the direction of senior staff or lead.

  • Maintain tools and equipment and ensure workspaces are safe and organized.

  • Complete assigned work orders using basic hand and power tools.

  • Follow all OSHA safety procedures and PWS Section C-5.B maintenance protocols.

  • Communicate repair needs beyond scope to supervisors or senior trades staff.

  • Support emergency maintenance efforts as required.

Qualifications:


  • 2–4 years of hands-on recent experience (within the past 5 years) in building or facility maintenance.

  • Basic skills across multiple trades including carpentry, plumbing, painting, and electrical.

  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools and small machinery safely and effectively.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Physically able to lift 50 lbs and work on ladders, in tight spaces, or in adverse weather.

  • High school diploma or GED required; vocational training preferred.



Additional Requirements:


  • Must be able to obtain a favorable adjudication via a DHS background investigation and maintain suitability clearance.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident with work authorization.

  • This position may require the operation of Company-provided vehicles.

    • If operating Company-provided vehicles, maintaining a valid driver’s license in good standing is a condition of employment.

    • If operating Company-provided vehicles, employee must comply with all Company vehicle use and safety policies, as well as all applicable traffic laws.

    • If operating Company-provided vehicles, the Company may review your motor vehicle record (MVR), as permitted by law, to verify eligibility to operate Company vehicles.

    • If operating Company-provided vehicles, you must immediately notify the Company if your driver’s license is suspended, revoked, restricted, expires, or if your driving privileges otherwise change.



  • Work Hours are 0700 – 1600 with availability to be on-call outside of work hours

    • Work schedules are determined by management and may be modified at any time based on business needs, contractual obligations, and operational requirements.
