Mainframe Modernization Consultant

Our client, a global technology company, is looking to hire am L4 Mainframe Migration Consultant for a 6-month remote contract. The consultant will be responsible for supporting major migration efforts from Broadcom (CA) to BMC AMI mainframe product suites, specifically managing the end-to-end migration, configuration, and validation from legacy CA tools to target BMC best-in-breed solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Migration Execution: Lead the technical conversion, data mapping, and deployment from Broadcom CA products to the BMC AMI Mainframe ecosystem.
• System Configuration & Tuning: Install, configure, and optimize the target BMC AMI solutions to mirror or improve upon legacy functionality.
• Testing & Validation: Conduct rigorous parallel testing and performance validation to ensure zero business disruption during cutover.
• Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: Document the new environment topologies, migration playbooks, and conduct handoffs to the operational mainframe team.

Required Skills:

• 7+ years of hands-on Mainframe Systems Programming or Architecture experience, with a proven track record of successful software vendor migrations.
• Strong working knowledge of legacy CA architectures, syntax, and configurations (specifically Endevor, Top Secret, and DB2 tools).
• Demonstrated proficiency installing and administering the BMC AMI DevX suite, AMI Ops, and AMI Storage/Security solutions.
• Exceptional scripting, troubleshooting, and parallel testing methodology skills in a z/OS environment.
