Job Description

GovCIO is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer (Remote) to lead white glove support for customers adopting cloud solutions as part of VA's Data Modernization initiative. This role requires architecting, maintaining and expanding a set of custom-developed ServiceNow applications. This position will be fully remote located within the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain front and back-end components connected to a blended technology stack and focus on interconnecting these ServiceNow functions into legacy systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot ServiceNow production application issues.
  • Work with Product Owners and Scrum Teams in requirements decomposition, backlog refinement, and breakdown of user stories and tasks.
  • Act as an intake subject matter expert to the workgroups for their migration to the cloud
  • Fully build out a best practices knowledge base for in which all workgroups can benefit
  • Attend and actively respond to workgroup questions on weekly feedback and center of excellence calls
  • Collaborate with cloud architects, engineers, and system owners to ensure technical deliverables meet program requirements and timelines.
  • Manage competing priorities, handle research and response for all product line operations related data calls and provide ongoing progress reports.
  • Manage parallel projects under a complex program while also providing cross functional program level support.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Information Technology, Engineering, or technical discipline plus 12 years of experience; years of experience can be substituted for the degree requirement
  • 5+ years' experience in ServiceNow and the Now Platform - ITSM, App Engine and/or Integration Hub
  • Experience in managing projects in the Department of Veterans Affairs
  • Expertise with Azure or other major cloud platforms.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with data lake architectures, especially Delta Lake or similar structured storage solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering and business teams.
  • Strong documentation practices and experience building standard operating procedures.
  • Experience in creating and presenting executive summary presentations.


Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • ServiceNow Certifications (Certified System Administrator & Application Developer)
  • Certifications for AWS Developer Associate, AWS Cloud Practitioner, Certified Kubernetes Application Developer, Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist, Terraform Associate
  • Experience with Databricks workspace administration, catalog creation, mount configurations, and cluster setup.
  • Experience automating cloud provisioning workflows (e.g., Terraform, ARM, Bicep, PowerShell, Python).
  • Experience with SSMS, SQL, BaseCamp, Active Directory, Database Design, Lake House design, Synapse, Git Commands, Ansible, Docker
  • Experience with Windows, MacOS, Linux, Ruby, HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavAscript, C#, .Net, NodeJs, Angular, Jquery, Microsoft SQL server, Mongo, Azure, AWS, GCP, Heroku, Github, JIRA, confluence, Azure Develops, Backend sustainment, Frontend sustainment, APIs , UX Designer, UI Designer, Fullstack Engineer
  • Experience in conflict management and servant leadership
  • Highly motivated and analytical; proven problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, proactivity, and enthusiasm in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness and ability to quickly learn new skills, new client environments, and grow domain expertise.
  • Ability to conduct independent research in the root cause analysis and resolution of complex issues.
  • Excellent planning, project oversight, risk management, prioritization, organization, attention to detail, leadership, and time management skills
  • Demonstrated strong facilitation and excellent verbal communication, oral presentation, analytical and written communication skills.
