This position will support the United States Space Force (USSF) System Delta 80 New Entrant Launch Operations Division .

- Provide senior-level LV Systems engineering expertise at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, specializing in LV Avionics hardware design and testing, Electro-mechanical hardware, launch operations, or LV and launch systems software.
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate Engineering Boards, providing risk assessments, mitigation planning, and technical recommendations, as well as performing design reviews, pre- and post-test reviews, procedure reviews, and failure analyses.
- Perform avionics systems engineering functions, including requirements definition, design review, test review, hardware acceptance, pedigree evaluation, performance assessment, verification, operations, and post-flight analyses.
- Support customer preparations for launch contractor reviews, audits, site walkdowns, rehearsals, launch operations, and anomaly resolution processes, while ensuring secure management and reporting of proprietary technical data.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, such as The Aerospace Corporation, New Launch Contractors, launch site personnel, and production and supplier teams, as required .
- Prepare periodic technical evaluations and reports, while supporting USSF customers in Chief Engineer briefings, Weekly Status Reviews, and Space Systems Command processes.
- Leverage knowledge of USSF and NASA launch and range systems operations, applying expertise in LV design, processing, integration, testing, launch, and anomaly resolution to resolve multi-disciplinary challenges.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical) or STEM field. 1.5 years relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of each 1 year of education/degree requirement.
- 12 + years launch systems structures and mechanical systems engineering, technical program management, or other related experience .
- 3 + years of NSSL , Launch/Range, Department of Defense, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), or industry equivalent launch or space systems project engineering experience.
- Knowledge/experience with LV systems (liquid propellant rocket engines and systems, ordnance, hydraulics, in-flight avionics, LV ground support equipment, LV structures, composite materials, etc.) with strong preference for individuals with strong avionics hardware design and test experience
- Familiarity with space, launch, and safety standards.
- Experience with USSF, NASA, N ational Reconnaissance Office , and L C s preferred.
- Experience with agile software products, such as Warp Core, Jira, Confluence, MS Office Suite, SharePoint, Google Workspace, and Information Technology systems is highly preferred.
- Ability to create and deliver thoughtful and articulate written and verbal presentations and reports to senior engineers and management.
- Previous project management experience preferred.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50 %.
- Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
- Frequently communicates with co-workers, management , and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
