Support Engineer – Data Platform & Analytics
Location: Remote (East Coast preferred)
$55-65/hr W2

Position Overview
We are seeking a Support Engineer to provide technical assistance and platform expertise for a sophisticated enterprise data and analytics environment. This role serves as a critical link between end users, implementation teams, and product engineering groups, ensuring platform users can effectively leverage data-driven applications and workflows.
The ideal candidate combines strong software development skills, analytical thinking, and a customer-focused mindset. You'll troubleshoot complex technical issues, collaborate with engineering teams to resolve platform challenges, and help drive continuous improvements through user feedback and operational insights.
Key Responsibilities

Serve as a primary technical resource for platform users, providing guidance, troubleshooting assistance, and issue resolution.
Develop deep expertise in the organization's data and analytics ecosystem to effectively support end users and business stakeholders.
Investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues involving data pipelines, applications, integrations, and platform functionality.
Partner with software and product engineering teams to identify root causes of defects and support the delivery of long-term solutions.
Escalate and track technical issues while ensuring timely communication and resolution.
Analyze recurring user challenges and translate findings into recommendations for product enhancements and process improvements.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical documentation, knowledge bases, support guides, and operational procedures.
Participate in initiatives designed to improve support scalability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Assist users in maximizing platform capabilities through technical guidance and best-practice recommendations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless user experience across data, analytics, and application workflows.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Strong software development and troubleshooting experience.
Proficiency in Python is required; experience with PySpark is highly preferred.
Experience with one or more additional programming languages such as SQL, Java, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
Understanding of APIs, REST services, and modern application integration concepts.
Knowledge of software development best practices, including source control, code branching, testing, and deployment workflows.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate complex technical issues.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to interact professionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders in customer-facing environments.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting enterprise software, data platforms, analytics environments, or large-scale business applications.
Familiarity with data engineering concepts, large datasets, and data-driven application architectures.
Experience working within technical support, customer success, application support, or platform operations teams.
Exposure to cloud-based platforms, data integration technologies, and modern software ecosystems.
Ability to identify trends across support requests and drive process improvements.
Experience creating technical documentation, user guides, and troubleshooting resources.
Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with evolving priorities and business requirements.
