What You Will Do:
The Electrical Engineer Associate will work as part of an engineering team to develop electrical design solutions to a variety of problems related to undersea systems. The position spans the technology development life-cycle, including requirements review, hardware design, hardware procurement, integration, test, and installation across lab facilities and at-sea platforms.
Specific responsibilities may include:
- Support development of new electronic systems using existing hardware architecture.
- Create and maintain electrical documentation, electrical and electronics modeling and simulation including Electrical Schematics, Cable Design Drawings, Interconnect Diagrams, Test Procedures, and other electrical documentation.
- Participate in Design Reviews.
- Support production environment in researching obsolescence COTS and customer hardware to meet production requirements.
- May be required to assist with installations, tests, and maintenance of system-layered hardware and software packages at customer sites.
- Isolates and reports malfunctions and discrepancies to the lowest definable levels.
- Documents and maintains cabling and interconnect schemes and drawings.
- Follow site policy and procedures.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment

Basic Qualifications:
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Electro-mechanical
- Proficient with electronic systems schematic interpretation, electrical circuit design, electrical cable design, equipment troubleshooting, and repair.
- Operation and use of standard test and measuring instruments.
- Willing to travel to support technical tasks, system installations, modifications, testing, and have a valid driver's license.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Must have the ability to receive and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
Desired Skills:
• Fundamental understanding of electrical engineering principles, including circuit analysis and design.
• Experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting analog and digital circuits.
• Knowledge of power systems, power distribution, and/or power electronics.
• Familiarity with common power conversion topologies, including AC/DC and DC/DC converters.
• Ability to read, interpret, and create electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Understanding of electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, spectrum analyzers.
• Experience with PCB design tools and schematic capture software (e.g. OrCAD, Expedition)
• Basic knowledge of electrical safety practices and industry standards.
Hands on Experience:
• Laboratory experience assembling, testing and troubleshooting electrical hardware.
• Ability to diagnose hardware issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Experience with prototyping, soldering, and hardware modification is desirable.
• GPA 2.5 or above
• Possess good oral and written communication skills; and be self-motivated in performance of duties with limited supervision.
• Must be capable of establishing and maintaining a courteous relationship with all customers.
Software and Analysis Tools:
• Familiarity with MATLAB, Simulink, LTspice, PSpice, or similar simulation tools.
• Microsoft Office
Other Experience:
• Internship, co-op, research project, or hobbyist experience involving circuit design.
• Exposure to EMI/EMC considerations, grounding, and electrical integration practices.
Experience with selection and integration of network servers, switches, fabric extenders, memory, power supplies, etc.
Experience in cable design and interconnect diagrams using Zuken E3 a plus.
Familiarity with Engineering Change Control Process and EPDM.
Design experience in a military environment a plus.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple simultaneous tasks.
Motivated and self-starter with excellent communications skills.
