Job Description
As a Database Administrator II, you'll support critical federal case management systems for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) as part of a Tier 3 production support team. Our team is responsible for maintaining the performance, reliability, and availability of mission-critical databases, and you'll help ensure production systems operate efficiently by monitoring database health, resolving complex issues, and providing the insights needed to support informed operational decisions.

What you'll do:
- Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot enterprise databases as part of a Tier 3 production support team.
- Investigate and resolve database performance, configuration, and operational issues while ensuring system availability and reliability.
- Perform database monitoring, performance tuning, log analysis, and capacity planning to optimize system health.
- Support data manipulation, migration, recovery, validation, and retention activities across enterprise databases.
- Generate database performance reports and provide data-driven insights to system leadership.
- Utilize ticketing systems to document incidents, changes, and problem resolution activities.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Ability to obtain a DHS Public Trust.
- Bachelor's degree
- 3-5 years of experience administering and supporting enterprise databases.
- Strong mid-level SQL Server skills, including writing SQL queries, troubleshooting production database issues, supporting ETL data migrations and analyzing database performance.
- Experience monitoring database activity, performance, resource utilization, and file usage.
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex database issues, including performance tuning and root cause analysis.
- Experience analyzing database performance, data relationships, data flow, storage, reporting, and overall database design.
- Experience managing data loads, ETL processes, data migrations, and ETL best practices.
- Experience supporting Tier 3 operations with proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
- Experience using ticketing systems to track incidents, changes, and problem resolution.
- Experience preparing system performance reports and supporting project planning and database-related tasks.
SALARY RANGE: $101,200.00 - $121,440.00
The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. The final salary offered will be determined based on several factors including:
- The candidate's professional background and relevant work experience
- The specific responsibilities of the role and organizational needs
- Internal equity and alignment with current team compensation
- This role is also eligible for additional compensation, subject to the terms and policies of MetroStar, which may include:
- Performance-based bonuses
- Company-paid training and/or certifications
- Referral bonuses
