Strategic ACI is seeking a Junior Data Scientist to support AI/ML Test & Evaluation (T&E) activities for mission-focused national security programs. The Junior Data Scientist performs GEOINT data preparation, conditioning, and analysis tasks that support Machine Learning Engineers, Software Engineers, and AI/ML Test Engineers in executing operational T&E workflows.
This role supports the preparation and management of datasets used for AI/ML model evaluation by performing image processing, metadata extraction, data formatting, and data conditioning activities required for operational testing environments. The Junior Data Scientist contributes to the execution of model evaluation pipelines and ongoing testing activities across multiple operational scenarios, datasets, and mission environments.
The position supports MT&E and T&EaaS initiatives aligned with mission-focused AI/ML evaluation efforts and plays a key role in ensuring data quality, consistency, and operational readiness for T&E activities.
Salary will be commensurate within the advertised range, based on applicable qualifications.

Responsibilities:
- Perform GEOINT data preparation, conditioning, and analysis activities supporting AI/ML testing and evaluation workflows.
- Prepare and format datasets for AI pipelines, model evaluations, and operational testing activities.
- Conduct image processing and data conditioning tasks including image format conversion, orthorectification, sharpening, and metadata extraction.
- Support execution of AI/ML evaluation pipelines across development, experimentation, and operational testing environments.
- Ensure datasets meet quality, formatting, and operational standards required for T&E activities.
- Assist with analysis of labeled datasets and support assessment of dataset impacts on model performance.
- Support ongoing testing, experimentation, and system evaluation activities across multiple mission scenarios.
- Collaborate with Machine Learning Engineers, Software Engineers, and AI/ML Test Engineers to support operational evaluation objectives.
- Contribute to data management, dataset organization, and technical documentation supporting evaluation activities.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Active TS/SCI clearance and the ability to pass a CI polygraph within 30 days.
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics or similar related field, or additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Familiarity with data analysis, data preparation, or GEOINT data processing concepts.
- Ability to work with structured and unstructured datasets supporting AI/ML workflows.
- Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts, data pipelines, or model evaluation processes.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary technical teams.
Desired:
- Experience supporting DoD, NGA, or Intelligence Community environments.
- Familiarity with GEOINT data formats, image processing, and geospatial analysis workflows.
- Exposure to AI/ML testing, data labeling, or operational evaluation activities.
- Experience working in Agile or DevSecOps environments.
- Familiarity with scripting, data manipulation, or cloud-based data environments.
