Job Description
- Manage the records of the Office of Classification and its suboffices to meet Department of Energy records management requirements
- Plan, control, direct, organize, train, promote, and other managerial activities involved with respect to records creation, records maintenance and use, and records disposition to achieve adequate and proper documentation of the policies and transactions of the Office of Classification
- Demonstrate proficiency in full life cycle records management, file plan creation and maintenance, applying records disposition schedules, and e-mail management
- Develop office policies and procedures for managing records
- Create and maintain a filing system of classified and unclassified records
- Direct the transition from a paper-based system to an electronic document system within two (2) years of contract award that meets Department of Energy records management requirements
- Maintain filing systems that allow easy retrieval of records when needed
- Coordinate with IT staff to create electronic records systems that can be easily accessed by authorized personnel
- Digitize records with the appropriate software or technology
- Manage and keep up-to-date with the organization?s essential records plan as part of the Agency?s Continuity of Operations (COOP) plan ? Ensure Review Item Disposition System (RIDS) schedule meets Departmental records management requirements and is up-to-date and followed
