EDI Production Issue Coordinator/Tester
Location: Remote
Description:
Seeking a highly motivated and self-directed EDI Production Issue Coordinator/Tester to join our team supporting Veterans. The EDI Production Issue Coordinator serves as the dedicated analytical and technical troubleshooting lead for VA's Payer Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) operations. This senior technical role requires deep expertise in healthcare X12 EDI transactions, data mapping, and root cause analysis to rapidly resolve production issues impacting medical claims, authorizations, and file transmissions.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
Job Responsibilities:
• Manage intake and triage of production issues impacting EDI transactions and workflows.
• Document issues thoroughly (symptoms, impact, affected files/transactions, reproduction steps) and track to closure.
• Investigate root causes using data analysis techniques, including running SQL queries and reviewing transaction traces/logs.
• Support troubleshooting across cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS), integration layers, and VA-managed systems.
• Coordinate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and external partners to drive timely resolution.
• Participate in elaboration, defect review, and UAT handoff meetings to ensure operational readiness and continuity.
• Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), issue playbooks, and recurring issue knowledge articles.
• Provide recurring operational reporting (issue trends, time-to-resolution, backlog aging) as requested.
Required Skills:
• Experience troubleshooting EDI production issues (e.g., file format discrepancies, data mapping issues, transmission failures).
• Data analysis skills; working knowledge of SQL and ability to trace transaction flow across systems.
• Strong attention to detail, documentation discipline, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security clearance.
Desired Skills and Experience:
• Experience with X12 EDI healthcare transactions and data mapping.
• Familiarity with healthcare payer operations and/or VA systems.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience).
• 8 + years experience in EDI operations, healthcare technology troubleshooting, application support, or similar.
• Preferred: Agile and/or EDI standards certification
