Position Title: Security Administrative Assistant (Access Control)
Location: Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center
(MARMC), Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, VA
Security Clearance: Secret
Duties and Responsibilities
- Access Control and Security Management:
- Supports command security programs by aiding in the development and implementation of security procedures related to access requirements, clearances, and badging.
- Assist with citizenship verification, processing and coordinating visit requests with government
- Coordinates MARMC camera passes and visits authorization letters with government
- Supports personnel access logistics and ensure access list updates are promptly forwarded to appropriate
Knowledge and Qualifications
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in applying conventional fact-finding, analytical, and problem-solving methods. Security experience with security systems administration, comprehension, and security administration skills, experience with Lenel or other electronic security system administration and comprehension, CCTV operation, watch standing.
- Experience in Adobe, Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and
- Three (3) years of job-related experience in a Security Disciplines, including but not limited to the following Security Pillars:
- Physical Security: Implementation and oversight of access control, surveillance systems, perimeter protection, and facility
- Anti-Terrorism Measures: Risk assessments, vulnerability analysis, and execution of force protection
- Personnel Security: Conducting background investigations, managing clearance processes, and enforcing insider threat
- Industrial Security: Compliance with classified information handling procedures, safeguarding sensitive assets, and supporting Facility Security Officer (FSO) functions.
- Military Security Functions: Base defense planning, convoy security, mission-critical asset protection, and tactical security
- Operations Security (OPSEC): Identification and protection of critical information, implementation of counterintelligence measures, and integration of OPSEC into planning and execution.
- Incident Response and Threat Mitigation: Active participation in identifying, reporting, and resolving security breaches or suspicious
- Preferred Qualifications/Certifications: Defense Security Service (DSS), or Military Service Security Courses or Certifications, or other Security System Certifications
- United States Citizen
- Active Secret Clearance.
Physical requirements for efficient navigation aboard US Navy ships
- Contractors under the Production Department (C900) must possess the physical stamina to walk continuously for extended periods of time without experiencing significant fatigue. This includes traversing across inclined or uneven surfaces, through/into crowded/confined areas/spaces, up and down ladders/stairs, and in areas of varying environmental qualities.
- Contractors under the Production Department (C900) must possess adequate upper and lower-body strength necessary to climb ladders, stairs, and ramps. The contractor should possess the physical strength, agility, endurance, and mental constitution required to work aloft (as required). This may require the contractor perform work over the side of a ship's hull, on the mast, or in areas on the superstructure and at a height that requires the use of a safety harness. This upper and lower body strength and endurance should also be sufficient for the contractor to hand-carry necessary tools, parts, materials, and equipment through narrow passageways, up and down ladders, and into/out of confined spaces.
