Position Title: Management Analyst II (Ship Maintenance)
Location: Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center
(MARMC), Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, VA
Security Clearance: Secret
Duties and Responsibilities
- Be proficient with Navy Maintenance Database (NMD), Ship Maintenance Data Improvement Initiative (SMDII), Availability Management System (AMS) Capability, and Validation, Scheduling and Brokering (VSB) databases.
- Provide analytical and administrative Obtain data from various available systems and generate historical or predictive analysis to assist in resource allocation or other trend analysis in support of strategic goals.
- Recommend changes in business management, administrative processes, policies, procedures in the planning and execution of ship maintenance availabilities. Assist the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) in providing analyses of maintenance and repair trends as well as using the AMS Capability for predicting achievement of maintenance availability Key Events and Milestones. Provide support in developing cost estimates and forecasts while providing detailed justifications.
- Revise correspondence such as risk letters, Small Dollar Value Growth (SDVG) metrics, and naval messages in accordance with DON
- Provide support to staff by applying business management and personnel practices and assist in evaluation organizational processes to recommend improvements in structure, staffing, procedures, and workload distribution using standardized methods and analysis techniques.
- Review work specifications and make recommendations for all required planning and execution reports and review integrated production schedule inputs provided by awarded industrial contractors when submitted through NMD.
- Support position management reviews and organizational reviews, studies of organizational structures and submit recommendations to the Government Supervisor.
- Communicate information effectively and efficiently in order to gather information, present recommendations and coordinate Make on-the-spot presentations to large groups.
Knowledge and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related
- Five (5) years of in-depth knowledge of surface ship modernization, maintenance, and repair policies and
- Experience in the creation of documents in Microsoft Office 365 Suite, SharePoint, and Power
- United States Citizen
- Active Secret Clearance.
Physical requirements for efficient navigation aboard US Navy ships
- Contractors under the Production Department (C900) must possess the physical stamina to walk continuously for extended periods of time without experiencing significant fatigue. This includes traversing across inclined or uneven surfaces, through/into crowded/confined areas/spaces, up and down ladders/stairs, and in areas of varying environmental qualities.
- Contractors under the Production Department (C900) must possess adequate upper and lower-body strength necessary to climb ladders, stairs, and ramps. The contractor should possess the physical strength, agility, endurance, and mental constitution required to work aloft (as required). This may require the contractor perform work over the side of a ship's hull, on the mast, or in areas on the superstructure and at a height that requires the use of a safety harness. This upper and lower body strength and endurance should also be sufficient for the contractor to hand-carry necessary tools, parts, materials, and equipment through narrow passageways, up and down ladders, and into/out of confined spaces.
