Your Mission

Support the U.S. Navy Aircraft Carrier Engineering Team within the Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAE) Maritime organization by providing senior cybersecurity engineering, system security, assessment and authorization, and mission-critical technical support for aircraft carrier systems and platform-based network integration.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will support mission-critical systems and infrastructure by combining cybersecurity, software, hardware, and systems engineering expertise to help innovate, optimize, and secure performance. You will work alongside interdisciplinary teams, program stakeholders, and technical authorities to support engineering solutions that advance national security objectives.

· Review testing and validation activities to ensure system functionality and compliance with cybersecurity standards.

· Develop technical documentation, including schematics, specifications, and system architecture diagrams.

· Participate in engineering reviews, audits, and program milestone meetings.

· Stay current with emerging technologies, cybersecurity trends, and applicable industry practices.

· Assist Platf orm Acquisition Resource Managers (PARMs) with achieving Authority to Operate (ATO) for aircraft carrier systems.

· Work with relevant stakeholders concerning the cybersecurity of aircraft carrier systems.

· Provide technical support in systems engineering design, network architecture, and system security development to support platform-based network integration, information technology, and communications for cybersecurity.

· Support cybersecurity activities in accordance with the NIST Framework, Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) System Survivability, DoD 8500 series, DoD Cybersecurity Test and Evaluation (T&E), Cyber Threat Intelligence, Navy CYBERSAFE, Navy Information Assurance/Technical Authority Board standards, and NAVSEA Enclave policy.

· Support the definition of system security requirements, risk assessments, systems analysis, systems design, cybersecurity T&E, assessment, and authorization.

· Provide cybersecurity Risk Management Framework (RMF) support.

· Serve as a subject matter expert in validating the implementation of cybersecurity requirements for devices, sub-systems, systems, enclaves, and platforms.

· Recommend system hardening solutions to increase operational survivability and resilience to mission risk for devices, sub-systems, systems, enclaves, and platforms.

· Provide engineering recommendations and support the integration of T&E into the identification and development of cybersecurity specifications and requirements for implementation into ship design.

· Support the phasing and fielding of cybersecurity solutions for existing systems and future needs through planned integration of cyber-related architectural features and tools to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, platform mission, and operations.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Network Security, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics with a concentration in computer science, or a related discipline.

· Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in computer design, software development, or computer network security.

· Experience supporting U.S. Navy programs or operations.

· Experience in cybersecurity, cyber defense engineering, and cybersecurity management.

· Experience supporting systems engineering design, network architecture, system security development, cybersecurity T&E, assessment and authorization, and RMF activities.

· Knowledge of cybersecurity standards, frameworks, and requirements applicable to Navy and DoD environments, including NIST Framework, JCIDS System Survivability, DoD 8500 series, DoD Cybersecurity T&E, Cyber Threat Intelligence, Navy CYBERSAFE, Navy Information Assurance/Technical Authority Board standards, and NAVSEA Enclave policy.

· Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, management, customers, and technical stakeholders.

· Ability to support technical documentation, engineering reviews, audits, program milestone meetings, and stakeholder coordination.

· Must be a U.S. citizen.

· Must possess an active or current Top Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

· 20 years of experience in cybersecurity, cyber defense engineering, and cybersecurity management.

· Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE).

· Compliance with applicable information assurance certification requirements in accordance with DFARS 252.239-7001 and the Navy Cyber Workforce (CWF) Program.

· Experience aligned to CWF Model Cyberspace Enablers, including Acquisition (801) Program Manager (Basic) or Acquisition (803) Product Support Manager (Basic).

Physical Requirements

· Must be able to remain in a stationary position approximately 50% of the time.

· Must be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and similar resources.

· Must be able to frequently communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, including delivering presentations.

· Must be able to exchange accurate information in professional communication settings.

Compensation

Final compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, education, certifications, active clearance status, specialized technical qualifications, and contract requirements.
